C3 MK2 battery change

Post by MiniMpi »

Picked out a watch yesterday for Louise to wear for the weekend and it was dead.
C3 MK2 Blue Dial, quite a rare one.

First battery change, lasted 4 years.
Had the correct Renata 395 battery in my stock so I sorted it this evening at the start of my night shift.

Quite a tricky one I found, very small screw for the battery holder which of course pinged off in to the ether but was located shortly afterwards.

Corrected the chronograph hands with the procedure in the handbook.

Looks fabulous, a really beautiful watch.
The blue can change to various shades depending on the light. I picked it up in the July sale of 2017 for the tiny sum of just £112

I noticed your blue C3 pics in the gallery, i can’t recall seeing one and think it looks fabulous. Is it a recent acquisition?

Funny enough, my dad’s silver C3 is just in its way back to CW for a battery change. I’m not as equipped or brave as you in doing it myself……

Hi mate,
We picked it up in 2017 in a sale.
I've only seen maybe one other one before so certainly not easy to find but was a regular version I believe.

Thanks. I like my white and Dad’s silver C3s a lot but think the highly reflective numerals against the blue look outstanding. Great Photo Ferg

Great photos, and a nice watch to be sure!

I take my quartzes to the local jeweler for battery changes as I lack both the tools and the clarity of vision to get into that work.

I too did a battery change the other day. Carol's green C5mk quartz was dead. I also se renata batteries and have few in stock. This was one of the 'wimbledon' series of 100. I'd forgotten how good it looked close up!

Carol seems to muck up watches and straps quite quickly, but this original green leather still looks very good.

Nice one Paul !
I always liked the green C5 with that lovely green leather strap, such a great combo.

Lovely to see the finishing on the inside of the caseback. Unnecessary frippery which will only be seen when the battery gets changed but the attention to detail and finishing is certainly appreciated by us watch nerds! :D
