What’s your favourite C60 generation
After trying several iterations of the mk2, mk2.5 and mk3.0, and after a concerted effort to prefer the 3.0, I find myself drawn ever closer to the mk2 C60s to the point I am amassing my own diver, driver, flyer trio (dive, chrono, gmt) of mk2 C60s.
Technically the mk3 is superior, but I just cannot get on with the polished lacquer dial, or, I am ashamed to say, the light catcher case, and I’m not keen on the inverted triangle on the bezel.
I really appreciate what CW did with the mk3 C60 and objectively I agree it’s a superior and more coherent design but for me I’m super happy with my mk2s.
This got me thinking whether other CW forum members have a favourite C60 generation, either 1, 2 or 3?
I’m sure the majority view is the mk3 from being a member here, but interested to hear opinions.

Re: What’s your favourite C60 generation
DISCLAIMER: This is a purely academic answer for me, as I’ve never owned any version of the C60.
For my money, I’ve got to go with the Mk1 Trident, specifically the C61 because of the smaller size. While the mk3 is a stunningly beautiful watch, it’s just a bit too refined for me. I think a dive watch, at the end of the day, is a tool watch and needs to look like a tool watch. The slab sides on the original C60 case, the aluminum bezel, and the inner minute track of the mk1 C60/61 all make for a very tool looking watch.
I’ve included pictures pulled from the CWArchive as a reference for people.

My favorite is the one I currently own C60 MkIII Ombré LE.
Like the OP I don't like the glossy bezel of the MkIII. Along with what Andrew stated I think the matte bezel makes it look more like a tool watch along with the fully graduated bezel.

Re: What’s your favourite C60 generation
It’s a great question and one I can’t answer definitively
I have all three and like them all for different reasons. Undoubtedly, the mk 3 is technically advanced and the design with the light catcher case is excellent. As much as I like the Mk1, it does feel a little dated compared to the latest version. But it does have the guilloche dial and ‘onion’ hands which add to its charm, not to mention the orange bezel which makes it unique in my collection.
The mk2 is an evolution in itself, especially with the ceramic bezel. However, I find that the 43mm is fractionally too big (but still wearable).
So…. I’m not favouring a specific version but appreciate them all in different ways

Re: What’s your favourite C60 generation
I have a MK2(.5) in 43mm, have had the 38mm MK3 and currently have th4 40mm MK3.
Clearly the MK3 is an evolution in pretty much every aspect, and the light catcher case looks significantly more refined. The changes are so many that they almost look like different models. But I feel that on the MK2, with it's more muscular lugs, the proportions work a bit better.
The MK2 in 43mm is just a tad too big for my wrist, but the MK3 in 40mm looks a bit stubby. So no clear favorite, but slightly incined towards the MK2.

I try not to be negative and try to always look for the positives, but I just plain do not like the hands on the mk2 C60s. The hands look bulbous and out of place to me.
Add in the lighcatcher case and its a no brainer that the mk3 is my fave.

Re: What’s your favourite C60 generation
If the Mk3 had the name logo at 12o'clock it might have been a 40mm Mk3 but I've returned a couple of NN purchases as I can't cope with what is to me an off-balance dial.
So the Mk2 is my favourite and in the 38mm size. I like the glossy ceramic bezel and polished top of the lugs that makes a black dial/black bezel look great on a black strap.
If CW release a Mk4 C60 with the name at 12 then my opinion might change to that but for now the Mk2 works for me.

Re: What’s your favourite C60 generation
I’ve never really understood all the fuss about swimming watches (I much prefer a nice dress watch or chronograph), but if pushed I would go for the third generation. With the CHR. WARD logo at 12.
And yes, I realise it’s never going to happen.

Re: What’s your favourite C60 generation
All marks get wrist time here and I tend to collect the chronometer and GMT versions but assuming I want black dial and shiny case my go-to would be the MkI.

Re: What’s your favourite C60 generation
I own a 43mm Mk2 white/red bezel which is a keeper even though for me dive watches are for diving so that for daily wear I much prefer classic/elegant/complications. Whilst I do appreciate the refinements of the Mk3: lumed bezel, sculptured case, I am not so keen on the more generic hands (though well executed) and definitely not the left justified logo so the Mk2 comes in ahead, particularly in the more exotic colour schemes - though I suppose CW will also get there with the Mk3.
