Wow...fourteen watches in six months, that's quite something Deks. I don't remember seeing a SOTC from you; It would be interesting to see the order you acquired them in, personal favs and maybe a few back stories. Perhaps there's a project for you.

Thats a good idea to keep me occupied altho my writing skills leave a lot to be desired :-). I just need to get to tomorrow first and find out im still a candidate for surgery albiet if my only option now is to pay privately. I'm s%%%ing bricks worrying. If its as bad as the NHS surgeon says then my life is over as I cant live like this and he says surgery is now too dangerous!. Im currently lying in bed not moving after violent back spasms earlier :-( This is no life.

The watch thing I think is a mental mechanism to keep me going and something to keep me focused.

I wish you the very best outcome, Deks. I have first hand experience of a very bad back, too. Keep up your enthusiasm for the watches and try your level best to stay positive.

Thankyou Des. I hold dear to me any support and really appreciate the message.

Just so I can mention the watches im sleeping wearing the C8 PR tonight and really like it. I need to pick a watch to wear when I speak to the surgeon tomorrow. Whatever watch I wear will become part of the memories good or most likely bad. I will post tomorrow the news...

(Maybe the C8 needs blooding and this will be its first memory)

Just let people know I got offered the surgery and on the 21st. It was changed to the 14th today but then changed back to the 21st. So basically 2 weeks on Monday

Just to add I'm wearing the C8 PR while typing this and it really has grown on me 😙

Excellent news Mike. I assume this will be in Leeds, I think they do the spinal surgery for West Yorkshire. Also does this mean you now have to isolate for 10 days prior to your op?

Thanks all and just to answer a couple of questions

I think the isolation is 7 days but also includes a test before. The surgery is in Leeds at the Nuffield hospital

I doubt they will let me wear a watch during it but I'm going to ask 🤣🤣🤣

I don't think they will, I had eye surgery last year (pre-COVID) and had to take my watch off. Still, worth an ask I suppose.

I hope not - it's big enough already! :-P

Glad they're willing to try and fix you, hopefully all goes well in a couple of weeks.
