Well done Lindsey !
The only thing causing me to pause with the credit card is the thought that CW might yet go even smaller - and a 36mm automatic might well be worth waiting for..... 39 fits me though..... I'm such an impatient soul!!

Caller wrote: Thu Apr 29, 2021 3:48 pm I really like the elite, a very good looking, interesting watch, but the Rolex GMT rip-off's do no credit to the brand at all.

Size wise, 40mm is my absolute smallest limit and I find it a little odd that a 42mm version isn't available.

And good to see the word mark where it belongs and hopefully these new models herald a lasting change in policy.

As for the video's, I liked the jeep, if that's what it was, but not a video I would recommend to look at watches. Bit of a waste of money really. Just as with divers, most won't use these watches to explore the wilds of deepest darkest Devon, yet alone the rain forests of Northern Queensland!

I'll wait for the sales before thinking about buying.
I think a 42 without a diving bezel would feel too large, especially with the evolving trend to downsize. The 43mm C65 classic was a lovely watch, but just too large- I've had several over the years including the gorgeous LE, but sold them all becuase they just felt too large at the end of the day. I agree that 39/40mm seems to be a common size out there for sports-style watches, but if you can tell the difference between 39 and 40mm regardless of case shape, L2L size etc, then you're far more perceptive than me :)

Me too Lindsey, but mine is the other way from 39 to 42 and its VERY unlikely to happen.
Im trying convince myself that if CW dont offer a larger case then the slim possibility of a dial in a 'out there' colour i.e as per new Oyster or Brietling colours may lift the wrist presence beyond black or white. Im just going to have to be patient or abstain on this occasion 🙄.

I'm itching to buy the white GMT, but after the initial wave of excitement, I was left with the realisation that I would be selling my Super Compressor if the above came in.

I like variety, so only 1 of each brand allowed in my little huddle. I now have a (very tough) decision to make ...

Was so looking forward to this watch but they have to put a date on them! Jesus, Mary and Joseph and the wee donkey can we just move this along before it drives us round the bend! “I’m out”

I think the 39/40mm will wear just fine as they have somewhat narrow bezels.

While they will be too small for some and still too large for others, I think we heard the same arguments about sizing when models started creeping up from 36/38mm to 42/44mm.

Some small observations for me:

Orange lume on the white dial seconds hands would be killer.

Color matched date wheels are a nice touch.

I will like to see the real world pics of the gun metal indices and hands on the white dials. Contrast will be ultra important for legibility on these.

A more subtle minute track on the Elite would look better I think. More like the Auto.

I think this is a great start for the Sealander and a nice addition to the overall collection.

Will I buy any? Promised the good lady that my 3rd CW purchase in 6 mths would be my last this year.

I'm a chap of my word.
Perhaps planning for the January sale is spot on for timing ! :D

After watching the YouTube video with Mr France.
It seems that smaller sizes are certainly a possibility.

Also like the Sealander GMT white with camel strap but fear the 39mm will be too small for me (41-44mm is the wrist sweet spot).

Will look at real life pictures and may take a flyer on one knowing with the 60:60 guarantee it can go back if it's too small. Will have to be patient as reducing the collection size is the first priority.

I am a fan of these watches.

The crown on the Elite looks a bit odd to me in the pictures, but on the video it looks great.
I can certainly think of many times when that design would have saved some discomfort, especially as I'm one of those, whos watch slips down towards my hand.
A good idea, which seems to be well executed.

Im a fan of black dialed watches, but the white faced versions of the GMT and Standard version are looking fantastic.
If I hadn't splurged my watch fund on the Lympstone, I think I would have gone for one of these.
