Watch model identification

Post by Harryj7 »

Hi- I was gifted the pictured watch on the death of father. I am looking for the online instructions etc to operate the stopwatch and tachometer.
Does anyone know how to find which model this is?

Thank you in advance!

Welcome to the Forum and condolences on the loss of your Father.

The C7 is a somewhat of a classic and looks to be in pretty good condition, with nothing untoward that a good clean and a polish won't sort. Importantly the bezel has not got any significant damage to it.

Good luck in getting it fired up with a new battery.

I'm glad we've been able to help, and hope you stick around.

Thanks all - getting on well with it having had a new battery fitted.

One thing that had confused me was that the second hand was actually for the stopwatch, whilst the little second hand was the normal second hand.
Seems to be the opposite to all my other watches!

Glad you got it fixed. The centre stop seconds is standard for chronographs.

That is standard on pretty well all chronographs. As you note, it's working like a stopwatch in that mode, so it needs to be easy to read the seconds and fractions. In the latest expensive Zenith Sport chronograph which is attracting a lot of attention, the stopwatch seconds hands actually goes round in only 10 seconds, and the outer bezel is marked in tenths of a second.
