C3 Malvern comeback?

Of all the CW models I have seen, the various C3 Malverns have the most appeal to me - in my view they have some of the classiest designs, and are better looking compared to the current CW dress watches, particularly the C3 Malvern Mk III Chronograph. So it is very disappointing to see CW don’t seem to make Malverns anymore. The Chronograph had at least three iterations, so will there be a fourth, or this the end of the line for Malverns as a whole? It is puzzling to me why CW would ditch such great designs. Were they not that popular?

Can anyone offer any hope to this Malvern fan?

Since these were all quartz, I think you're out of luck. WTB, Ebay or maybe summer sale as there were some C3 Grand Tourers knocking about.

Thanks for the eBay link, I will keep a "watch" on that. Unfortunately I am some way off getting enough posts for WTB.

Also, do keep an eye on ebay for those C3 GrandTourers, some of the NNs from January turned up there and didn't sell particularly well. While it's galling to pay extra and feed the scalpers, there's always a time to cut cards with the devil.

If buying a C3 Malvern Mk III Chronograph second-hand, how easy is it to change the battery? Is this something I could do myself? I can't find anything in the manual.

^^^ The manual certainly won’t tell you how to change your battery, but there are plenty of tutorial videos on the Internet which explain how to do it.

Just ensure you use a Renata brand battery a store new replacement (like all in life, you get what you pay for and these last the longest in my experience)

The C3 GT is a nice watch, and rather affordable. I wonder if we won’t see the C3 case return with an automatic movement now that CW is moving away from quartz.

^^^I don't know but I suspect it would involve some redesign/enlargement of the case to accommodate a mechanical chronograph movement.

Yes, all the mechanical chronographs I have seen tend to have thick cases, 14mm plus.
