In what way, and can you tell by the reset which movement you have?

I have the 1 VEV, and reading these recent comments it would suggest the 251.274 is the superior one.
RESETTING THE COUNTERS TO ZERO

CALIBRE TYPE - If the chronograph hands spin when you pull the crown out to
position 2, you have an ETA calibre 251.274. If the chronograph hands do not
spin, you have a calibre 241.272.

RESETTING THE COUNTERS TO ZERO ON THE CALIBRE 251.274
1. Pull the crown out to position 2.

2. Press pusher A to select the desired counter:
30-minute counter
60-second counter
or 1/10th-of-a-second counter

3. Press pusher B to reset the counter hand to zero.

RESETTING THE COUNTERS TO ZERO ON THE CALIBRE 251.272
30-minute counter
1. Pull the crown out to position 2.
2. Press pusher B to reset the 30-minute hand to zero.

60-second counter
1. Pull the crown out to position 3.
2. Press pusher A to reset the 60-second hand to zero.
1/10th-of-a-second counter
1. Pull the crown out to position 3.
2. Press pusher B to reset the 1/10th-of-a-second hand to zero

gfwatch24 wrote: Mon Mar 22, 2021 1:38 am Thanks for getting the info. It's a bit disappointing because these two movements have drastically different accuracy specs. The 251.272 is not a bad movement at all, but it really isn't anything special in the accuracy department. I find it odd that they still refer to it as being thermo compensated when it's not. I was hoping it was just an error on the webpage or manual.
Getting accurate information on these 2 movements is spotty, but as near as I can tell the accuracy rating is not what I would call drastic and frankly, if it was me, I wouldn't ever notice. It would seem that the ratings are:

251.272 = +20/-10 seconds per month

251.274 = +10/-10 seconds per month (possibly thermocompensated)

Nowhere can I find if a month is considered to be 28,29,30 or 31 days or if they mean the yearly average of 30.42 or 30.5 days.

I am happy to be proved wrong if someone can find better information.

Edit -March 23: Further information is forthcoming. The information I have posted here may not be 100% accurate.

If this is correct then I am extremely unhappy. I bought my 2VEV largely on the basis of it being a thermo compensated HAQ with the per YEAR accuracy.
This is how it was advertised and if is not the case then it will be going back.
The 251.272 is still on the website at +/- 10 secs per year

Many thanks for the comprehensive reply, Kip

Hands on my 1 VEV are spot on, so no need for resetting yet.

Just received tonight my C65 AM 1 VEV. Can't wait to start wearing it tomorrow.

New to the Brand as well! New to the forum. Decided to go for this limited edition release as my first CW to add to my collection. I hope I made the right choice!

Iam a liitle bit confused. According to the manual the crown has four positions. Position 1 crown screwed, Position 2 crown unscrewed, Position 3 date setting, Position 4 time setting. If your position 2 = position 3 date setting my 1 VEV has the ETA calibre 251.274, the chronograph hands spin one time clockwise.

Well according to this I definitely have the the 251.272 which is unfortunate because it's accuracy is definitely far below the 251.274. The 251.274 is rated to +/- 10 Seconds Per Year. While the accuracy is inconsequential in day to day, there's something about a company advertising one thing and then delivering another. I do like this watch but without that movement it's just another quartz and I had a Swiss army maverick with the same movement that I paid $199.00 for.

Thanks for all your input.

Very interesting information Kip

It has answered a query I had on my C70 HRDC actually !
When I was adjusting it recently for a date change or something, I noticed the spinning chronograph hands 'event' which I hadn't noticed before on some of the other C70's I have so my HRDC seems to have the ETA calibre 251.274.

According to the original website listing for the 2VEV (I took screenshots of the original listing pages for both models), it uses the 251.233. Information on this seems to suggest it’s thermo-compensated and accurate to +/- 15 seconds per year (according to the CW description).

It also confirms the 1VEV was originally listed as using the 251.274.

What movements did they turn out to have? Sorry, late to the game.

These movement numbers are getting me confused.

If the watches were advertised as having a certain tolerance per YEAR, but some were then shipped with tolerances rated per MONTH, surely this is wrong.

If as Kip suggests, they had some movements left, it seems a trifle underhand to ship with these less accurate ones and not inform buyers.

It seems we have one unhappy purchaser (not me), and maybe more if they knew the facts.

Both the adverts shown by JasperCat and Guy’s earlier post definitely state per YEAR.

Something fishy going on, and I’m not talking about Baldrick’s apple crumble.

My 2 pence worth...
This whole thread harps back to the old days of whether a CW watch had an ETA or Sellita movement
...which, of course, created discussions of discontent.
You would have thought that by now CW would have rectified this - obviously not!
All it does is show them in a bad light and doesn't really help brand credibility.

I think in this instance, the change in movements is worse.

ETA or Sellita tolerances weren’t vastly different.

These ones we’re talking about per Month vs per Year differences. I can see why gfwatch is a tad upset.
