Interestingly, toward the end of the video (which is indeed about the British Watchmaking Alliance), Mike France discusses the C60 Blue LE and that all profit from this limited run of 500 is going to the Blue Marine Foundation.

He then mentions a figure of "just under £250k", which by my rough calculation (allowing for VAT) makes the delivered cost of each watch about £250... is that about normal markup for Swiss made mechanical watches ? They seem reasonable value to me and the ones I have are very well made, so all seems fair enough

The margin will depend upon the brand and how it is sold, online, through a shop or whatever. It's hard to define what is normal but CW margins are almost certainly less than most of the big Swiss brands but maybe higher than microbrands. Whatever the margins are, they are enough to keep CW in business and investing in future watches/growth (we certainly hope so anyway).

Thought CW charged 3 times what the watch cost them to manufacture?

Well I suppose if one of these cost £250 (including all R&D, manufacture, advertising, customer support, sales, delivery etc) then multiply that you've £750, then add VAT (or other relevant sales tax) and you get £900, which is the cost of the (non bracelet) version... so seems about right.

I'm certainly happy enough to pay the price they're asking considering their build quality, although of course even better when there is a sale or discount code :D
