ME109 Chronograph
Does anyone know if CW has stopped selling the ME109 Chronograph for good now? And if so, does anyone know exactly how many were sold?

Re: ME109 Chronograph
The Me 109 was a limited edition of 100 pieces. It use the JJ02 caliber. I recall seeing an article or post saying that there were no more JJ02 parts available so the Me 109 will be the last watch to use this movement for some time. As to how many were sold, well, at least one appeared in the Jan sale at a heavy discount so I assume that all 100 have now been sold. It might appear as a NN but there's a vry good chance that they've all gone.

I know of a Forum /CWE Group member who picked up one of the last remaining in the January Sale, who has not gelled with it and is willing to move it on at cost; assuming you are looking to buy.

Interesting. I'm not looking to buy as I already own number 34. I was just wondering if they actually made the full 100 or not.

I like mine so much that I bought an original cockpit clock on which it is based as well!

Re: ME109 Chronograph
I've seen one in the 60s.
I'd assume that CW did commit to the whole 100 run, based on the fact that I've never seen them build less than a stipulated run.
Happy to be schooled if you/someone has seen it happen though.

Re: ME109 Chronograph
So mine is number 34 and only recently bought from CW. That led me to believe that maybe they'd not sold that many. Perhaps they haven't and they're all in a safe somewhere!

Re: ME109 Chronograph
I don't think they put them out in order. I picked up an Ombre LE last fall that was 65/300. They are now gone with only a handful going in the sale so I don't think they had very many on hand at the end.

Re: ME109 Chronograph
CW should be famous for not making their limited editions in number order. Famous for this, if not applauded for it. My low number C60 Apex was made in the second or third batch and was delivered a couple of months after initial availability. it wouldn't surprise me at a given number was made late in the run. Other factors might be at play to. Was the watch made earlier, found to have a fault, and then put to the back of the queue until the fault could be fixed? This is very plausible for a watch which doesn't have someone clamouring for a given serial number.

I'll advance you on the 60s as I've seen photos of #73.Renton wrote:I've seen one in the 60s.

I've also been in contact with CW customer service on another matter and took the opportunity of asking about the C9 Me109, receiving this reply;-
"The C9 ME109 did sell out during the sale, it is possible we may get some returned but as it stands at this stage we currently don’t have any left in stock."

Re: ME109 Chronograph
Does this mean - gasp/shock/horror that there are no JJ02 parts on inventory for possible future repairs to JJ02 watches? That would be a bummer....albionphoto wrote: ↑Wed Jan 27, 2021 1:57 pm The Me 109 was a limited edition of 100 pieces. It use the JJ02 caliber.
