Display case backs

Post by JAFO »

Out of interest, are all CW C60 or C65 case backs the same/interchangeable for a given size. .

If so, (it would be easier if they were standard) could CW make a generic display case back (with sapphire or mineral glass) that we could buy as an add on, to replace the fitted case back.

I am sure they would be able to sell plenty either with a new watch, or even as an after market choice.

Personally I like display case backs on any watch, and I am not too fussed about losing the water resistance, although maybe the factory could fit the choice at time of sale. I would just love to see the movements of my CW watches, especially as CW decorate the movements/rotors.

The C60 dials display the depth rating though and afaik, the display case back C60s 'only' have 300m of WR.

Therefore they'd need 2 sets of dials as well.

I don't know on case-back sizing, but your point on personalisation has been raised previously in the context of bezel choice. Perhaps if CW headed down the 'build your own' route, your suggestion would be feasible.
