Agreed, I think it's very handsome and colorful.

The black on black on white Chronograph has been done tk death at this point. Give me some happy colors. (CW did)

If I had to choose, I’d take the Tag.

The new C65 Chronograph has generally an aesthetically pleasing appearance but I think it would have a more impressive visual impact if the case size was between 42.5 - 43 mm. Perhaps CW should look how Omega achieved elegance and presence with their twin sub dial Seamaster offering.

I think the above Tag should be shown to the designer of this watch and told, 'here's how you do it'.

I think the CW looks a mess and is all over the place. The Eton Mess of the Watch World!

TAG (as posted above) vs. C65 Chrono - Apples and Pears. :problem: :problem:

60's inspired Dive watch vs. contemporary Motorsport watch.

One is three times the price of the other.

Correct, plus the Tag looks even busier. I think the C60 Chronograph looks great.

Interestingly Guy which is the CW in your response?
The CW has dive aspects (bezel, 150WR) and motorsport aspects (tachymetre) so is it a 60's inspired dive watch or a motorsport watch? (or even usable as a yachting watch as some have mentioned?)
This is part of it's problem :problem: and why some people consider it a mess or overdone with lines, measurements and too many design features.

Sure the TAG is 3xprice of the CW which was actually the point I was making. CW at £1800 or TAG at £4895 for white on blue chronographs?
Is the CW already pushing beyond the brand value barrier for many people to consider buying or is it a cheap acceptable alternative to similarly configured and coloured TAG, Seamaster, Speedmaster, Zenith etc?

Personally I consider the deign of the TAG and others to be clearer and less "full" than the CW but, as I pointed out and you confirmed, they cost way more than the CW at £1800. Similar initial appearances but not similar prices.

@Mikkei4 - clarification;-

60's inspired Dive watch (C65 Chrono) vs. contemporary Motorsport watch (TAG).

I hadn't registered the Tachymeter scale on the C65.

Pretty much this. I'd be interested to see the both side by side in the metal, because one would make the other look very unrefined and cheap.

With some of the general negativity towards the latest releases, they should've kept the embargo permanent. :escape:
Current collection incl Citizen, G-Shock, Rolex, Seiko, Sinn & Tag.

There are always going to be mixed reactions.

Quite a few have said they like it, but as usual it's the ones who don't that make the most noise.

The success or otherwise will be based on sales rather than opinion on a forum.

Absolutely right, Bob. But the forum is by definition a place to discuss these things. Always good to hear reasoned views either way.
