Some stunning watches and thank you for sharing

Of the CW watches, money no object I love the C8 Al Deere for both looks and the history

The C8 Power Reserve Chronometer is also one I love the look of

Have always found the A-13A pilot watch a handsome chronograph iteration

https://www.a-13a.com/

It’s an ETA Quartz movement although I recall reading somewhere that there were plans for an automatic.

To me it looks like a very well considered watch, the dial is majestic, particularly in white. Sinn is becoming increasingly more costly as a brand, but it strikes me that you're still getting quite a lot of bang for your buck. I would take a measured view and look at the weight of opinion that's out there concerning it. After all, we all have very different expectations and standards where watches are concerned. From what I can understand Sinn seem to do a very good job of regulating their third party movements, too.
timor54 wrote: Mon Oct 26, 2020 2:03 pm I’ve owned a Sinn 104 for approaching a couple of years and it’s one of 3-4 watches that I’d never sell.

Whilst it is invariably lumped in with pilot watches it is nothing like a flieger and in fact Sinn use the term ‘Instrument Watch’ to categorise it. It comes in a range of colours and with either Arabic numerals or baton indices.

Mine is the white version which I think is exquisite and belies the commonly held view that white dialled watches are hard to read.

To use a hackneyed term it’s a strap monster and the above is my favourite combination that brings out the green of the lume.

With regards to accuracy/regulation, mine seems to run at about +2 secs/day. However, in my experience this is somewhat dependent upon its ‘state of charge’; if I just pick it up and give it a good shake to get going then it can be erratic; whereas it’s much more accurate after a good winding.
@strapline, @timor54, thank you for the additional input and experience. All advice gratefully received..
regards
Ian

Many great pilot watches on the market. Look at Dekla, Damasko, and Archimede for some of smaller brands that offer customizing services.

You may want to consider Alpina as well and their Startimer model. A brand with a lot of history that is often overlooked.

I used to own the 40mm LE (below) and the case finishing and quality is excellent. It's one of my few truly regretful sales.
The standard range is 44mm, but they have just released 5 new 40mm models that I found out about a few days ago.

You can read a little bit about Alpina's history here if you're interested. A couple of surprising facts in there.

The new golden snitch in my collection:
The Longines Lindbergh Hour Angle replica from 1987, 60th anniversary of Lindbergh's Atlantic crossing.
This one is only 38 mm in diameter - tiny for a pilot watch - with the Longines L628 caliber (ETA 2892).
My budget simply does not afford the "real" 47 mm replicas.
Instead the golden Longitude-Bezel, crown and the golden inner workings captivated my eye and I matched it with a RIOS vintage leather band.
Meanwhile I worked out how to use the bezel with the watch running on GMT to calculate my home longitude when the sun is at its zenith. That was what pilots did when GPS and smartphones were not even imaginable in 1927.

What a ticking good old beauty :D

In addition to the mentions of Sinn, I think any discussion on pilots’ watches must include a reference to Brellum....

Someone on this forum recently mentioned Farer watches for their pilot range, so I checked out their site and was very tempted by the new 'Morgan' pilot automatic, unfortunately I had to stop myself, as I had only just spent £850 on a C65 Ombré
