2011 C9 FLE Tragedy
Gents, there is no easy way to say it.
Last night my wife sent my beloved 2011 C9 FLE (number 34) through a cycle in our washing machine!
.
.
Yep, let that sink in for a moment. I am hoping that I am having a nightmare and I will awake to find my beauful watch, and my first born's supposed 21st present, safe and sound. But I am afraid it isn't. Long story short the case looks like it has been put through a cement mixer (front loader washing machine, so pretty similar really) and is pretty banged up and I can see a slight fogginess on the glass of the display back so I am assuming there is some moisture inside the watch. Oh yeah, the strap has seen better days as well.
After considering murder, and then divorce, I am now in a state of denial. I had taken my watch off and wrapped it in a towel so the strap wouldn't get sweaty on my cycle home from work. For the first time ever my wife went into my bag to grab my work clothes and wash them. Unlucky? I've obviously killed some holy man in a previous life.
Anyway, I've sent a call to help to our saint Wera to see if I can have the watch re-cased if possible and I guess serviced if there is any additional damage done. I'm praying for a miracle. The mechanism is working fine and I have placed the watch in a sealed container of rice (works for wet phones but I am assuming possibly not so well for pretty well sealed watch cases, but I'm trying anything). Anyone have any additional tips for anything else I can do to minimise the damage done before I hopefully send back to CW HQ a miracle rebirth ie, should I be taking the back off the watch to try to get rid of the moisture?
Anyway, just looking to share the pain really. I'm hoping that I will tell this funny story at number one son's 21st in 18 years when I hand over a pristine number 34 but I'm also hoping to win $20 million in tonight's lotto. I'm hoping I have better luck with the former.
One very sad

Awful story - painful to read and I feel very sorry for you.
However, I am 100% confident that CWL will be able to fix this for you.

I feel for you mate but am sure that it will be sorted by CW.
Like most there is a side of me which is demanding to see a couple of pictures.

I was expecting a happy ending! When the story started I thought it was going to be a "look how well the watch coped" tale. Alas, no.

Sorry to hear the news Rooster. I can picture the scene when the error occured and suspect it was not happy. I sincerely hope it gets resolved. Remember to take the watch out of the bag next time!

Very sorry to hear this Rooster, I am sure it will be sorted by CWL. I think you have done all you can and a re-case and proper clean and service should be back with you before you know it.

Re: 2011 C9 FLE Tragedy
What a craptastic circumstance. Best of luck on the repair! I have yet to have such a fate befall any of my watches. Given my general clumsiness, I'm not quite sure how that's possible.
