Peugeot watches
Was searching fleeBay for a couple of bits that I need for the Pug - drive a Partner Tepee - and came across this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Peugeot-1028SBL-Mens-Silver-tone-Ratchet-Blue-Sport-Bezel-Watch-/231251544025?pt=UK_Jewelery_Watches_Watches_MensWatches_GL&hash=item35d7aa87d9 Thought at ...

Re: How about a jokes page, I'll start!
A Submarine Sailor walks into a bar and takes a seat next to a very attractive woman. He gives her a quick glance then casually looks at his watch for a moment. The woman notices this and asks, "Is your date running late?" No," he replies, "I just got this state-of-the-art watch,...

Re: I need a camera!
For Press work I use a Nikon D3 and D3s, but for everyday stuff I'm use a Nikon P7800. Good camera that covers all the bases. OK no WiFi but invest in good cards - SanDisk are my choice - and you should have no snags. It includes full manual control as well as semi-automatic options, such as apertur...

Re: My collection of watches
With ref to the strap for the Omega Geneve I'm going to take a trip to Glasgow one Saturday and have a look at what is available in the Argyle Arcade.

Re: Edinburgh Watch Shops - Quick Help Needed!
Andy, there is an interesting point here. I have noticed that if I go watch browsing in (my usual) shorts and polo shirt I get the curled lip. If I happen to be wearing a Zenith or GP and they notice they become very accommodating. You would think that after all this time assistants would be on the...

The red bezel on the black dial looks the dogs dodahs. Wouldn't say no to a Pepsi bezel either.

My collection of watches
My small collection of watches: Start with the Omega Geneve - its a gold version given to my Dad for long service with BOC dated 1976. Got her on a NATO strap just now as can't make up my mind what colour of leather strap I want her on - Black or Tan. http://thumbnails109.imagebam.com/33807/81ed9633...

Re: C600 MIA
Only had one problem with them and it was quite funny once they/I got it sorted. Had ordered a 20-ltr fuel can off fleeBay and it was marked as dispatched so I sat back and waited and waited. After a week I got in touch with the seller and he said you signed for it last week so a trip round the neig...

Re: Are you a clock watcher?
My neighbour suffers from a clock addiction - she has 8 or 9 large clocks in her kitchen all different styles but all large. Every room - including the bedrooms and bathroom - have at least one clock in them! Having said that I have five clocks in my "home office" one showing Crocketford t...

Re: SOTC - 1000 posts in!
Got a CWC G10 I was issued with in 1990 for a operation that I was involved in, wouldn't part with it for all the tea in China. OK it's been battered about a bit but stil keeps good time and reminds me of good -and bad- times. Managed to get my mitts on a Pulsar G10 - long hands - before I left in 2...

If you ever go for a new run count me in - Diesel Boats 1982-1996 - Opossum, Sealion, Oberon, Onyx, Opossum. DBF! Just a wee reminder to Submariners we serve on boats not subs - subs are what you get from a sandwich shop or off your oppo on a blank week

Re: what was and is your grail watch?
As a Royal Navy Submariner my 'grail' watch has to be a Rolex Submariner, my perfect one would be a 1982 one - the year I got my 'Dolphins'. There is a LE C60 with a set of 'Dolphins' on it so if I could get my mits on one of those that would keep me going for a wee while.

Business model for Omega is 110% different from CWs - Omega spend £millions on advertising, sponsorship of events etc: CW hardly spend on adverts, if at all, so all profits can be used on R&D.andyg wrote:
Hasn't worked that way with Omega. Watches are luxury goods at this level, TV's are consumer goods.

Re: Strap
I had the feeling that was the case - I know where to get three-party straps but just feel it would be nice to have a CW one.
