Re: The Non-Curmudgeons Corner

An excellent result indeed. "We're just a bus stop in Hounslow" is their famous self deprecating chant I understand. Looks to me like the Arsenal bus was 'not in service' last night! A brilliant performance from Brentford. scooter I think you are right about Arsenal. The Premier League be...

Re: Gig Thread

Anyone here attend any of the ‘In Concert and Sounds of the Seventies series’? These were at the BBC recording studio at the Paris Theatre, Lower Regent Street, London. A fantastic series which were free to invited audiences. I saw the Tourists with Annie Lennox (dressed in only her underwear and op...

Re: The Curmudgeons Corner

Post match pundits talking about how poorly Arsenal played. HELLO, Brentford were awesome.

Re: Dent of the day. ( or scratch or scuff etc)

I’m always interested to learn how folk deal with damage to their watch - leave it, DIY it, send it off for repair or even sell it on.

I’ve had one CW which had a new case, the scratch was annoying.

Good memories, indeed! And Steve is practically spot on. Dijon is a favorite destination of mine and where my wife & I went for our honeymoon. My grandparents lived on Long Island for close to 50 years. I’ve popped into Dijon a few times, it’s a gem. As for Long Island I was a regular visitor w...

Absolutely, they will sell. Not necessarily to watch enthusiasts but to those who collect art. It’s a new emerging market, watches that connect with other enthusiasts groups. The TRIBUS 303 is another good example, I know a number of people that have bought the watch because of its historical signif...

Ive gota say Richard, you're on a roll at the mo with great threads!!!!! Thank you, all I’m doing is having a bit of fun thinking of threads that could develop into interesting discussion. Hopefully ones that will stray into watches too. For example, AVO mentioned Andy Warhol and his Cartier Tank o...

Gig Thread

I thought it be fun to share memorable gigs here. Or gigs that you are looking forward to attending in the future. I’ll start with Queen at the Hammersmith Odeon and their legendary 1975 Christmas Concert. Freddie was at his very best, his voice that night was amazing - awesome range. I was 3 rows f...
