Re: Unsure about this one...
Glad it worked out Lindsey. My first thought was a currency conversion error.

Re: C1 Bel Canto Preview
Sorry. It won't do a good ding. More of a sad and tragic beep. First thing I've done on any Casio I've ever owned is to turn off the beep.

What an interesting case! Exactly the type of vintage watch that I enjoy. A distinctly vintage style with a beautifully restored case and dial. The Clos de Paris dial is spectacular.

Re: tissot pr516 - 784.2
Welcome to the forum. You might have better luck with your question in a forum dedicated to Tissot, as opposed to in a Christopher Ward forum. Watchuseek has a Tissot forum (though not a terribly active one). Maybe one of the Tissot experts there would be more knowledgeable about your particular wat...

Re: C1 Bel Canto Preview
I fully understand the reasons, I just don't agree with them. If information is readily accessible elsewhere, it just seems daft to remove all references to it here, a forum dedicated to CW. "I know theft is illegal, but if other people steal, why can't I?" This is what you sound like.

Re: William Wood "Fearless Orange"
I agree with you. At twice the price of my Baby Alpinist, with an inferior movement (4R35/NH35 in the William Wood vs 6R35 in the Seiko) I jut don't see the value. Even more egregious is the 500 GBP upcharge for an SW200 in their diver. An SW 200 can be purchased for about 100 GBP. Subtract the cost...

Re: Yema Kickstarter- microrotor movement
Yema's recent and much touted in-house calibres have been found out as Chinese eta clones, the brand has next to no customer service to top things off. There is a YouTube review which talks about similarities but stops short of saying that Yema’s movement is a straight copy. As for customer service...

Re: Yema Kickstarter- microrotor movement
Mmm! Microrotor or not, that's a movement that would benefit from a steel caseback.  Des Seiko has entered the chat. Seriously, if anyone should be using solid casebacks, it's Seiko. It's amazing how they can make some of the most beautifully finished movements with Grand Seiko, and some...

Re: Price increases in CW service dept.
What is the cost for CW to service a Sellita 3 hander and a Sellita 4 hander these days? The better question might be why CW no longer list these prices on the website? Service prices used to be readily available online. Swatch group has all their service prices online. Why does CW feel the need to...

Re: WristCheck - Stif's mobile watchbox app project - Now live on iOS and Android!
56 whole pence! "Making money with an app is easy!". Great work as always Grant. Do the ads pay based solely on impressions, or do they require the user to remain on the page containing the ad for a certain length of time before it registers as an impression (or heaven forbid do they only ...

Re: Vintage rabbit hole...
I've been going down the same rabbit hole lately, thinking a birth year watch would be a nice addition. As I've looked at vintage pieces, I've come to realize a few things: I want something that is distinctly vintage (1970 in my case). Something that won't bankrupt me with servicing costs going forw...

Re: Which Malvern is this?
Later production Malvern Mk 1. AFAIK all Mk1's had the original logo. Early models were "Swiss Mov't" while later models were "Swiss Made". I think with the nicely decorated rotor it's not from the end of Mk1 production, as i think the last models had the simpler movement decorat...
