Re: A poll because I’m just curious

As a renowned Santos 'fence-sitter' :) .....no not yet. And the price in Oz now says it's moved out of my price comfort zone now anyway. And one of the issues has been the busy-ness of an all-Romans dial. As ever, never say never to a Romans dial but I do prefer them as Romans - batons alternates. I...

Re: My grail, and favourite watch in my collection - AP RO Openworks

You have a couple of real beauties there. Absolutely spectacular.
Personally the 'piece unique' of the Dornbluth is more my thing but that particular R.O. is a fabulous piece of watchmaking no risk!

Yes indeed! Congrats in order and yep I'm a huge fan of what they do. This is properly special in a way that say a "Holy Trinity" piece just can't be.
True connoisseur piece no risk.
The concept of 'affordable" is kind of a variable thing though :) This is still real money.

Sporting a cute little extra today that I picked up last night at the Australian Watch Club's annual Christmas GTG.
A great geek-out night with a friendly bunch of like-minded souls. And a nice chat with Jody of Just One More Watch who is also a member.

Re: C63 Celest

Well I already have a Sealander, GMT, and I have a policy for no two watches from same series.
Otherwise it's a thumbs up and it looks fabulous on the consort. Shine her up baby!

Of course having a 'girlie' 16cm wrist helps :)

@Noush Do you have evidence for the assertion that Oris would rate highly?
Well, yeah. The use of sustainable materials for straps, recycled materials on dials for example, and a general push for awareness of these issues.
They have a way to go, but they seem to be working on it.

Re: The Naughty list !

Very interesting.

Patek and Rolex short on transparency. Who'd have thought? :)

Oris not on the list of brands discussed, and they are I guess leaders in the industry in this area, although it's not like they make many watches with 'precious metals'.

Re: Asking “for a friend” - no, really!

The Dolce Vita seems an obvious choice but having looked at it a couple of times I would make this observation: If you are used to the set and forget of a quartz then, if you are not using it daily, the crown is definitely an issue for the individual to consider. Don't know what they were thinking b...

Welcome to the 'Traska Club'! Congrats

Very happy indeed with my Summiteer v4. They really make some good watches.
