Re: Formex Baguette Essence - Do you like diamond dials?
Not sure about diamonds on a dial, Alex. These are very modest though to the extent that it's hard to tell they're diamonds at all. What is this use of french baking terminology and luxury watches!? Baguette indices, Blancpain... it there a croissant moon phase? I think I prefer the LE Essence with ...

Re: Dry January 2024
Like others here, I drink very little these days. A dry month would so adversely affect my twelve month aggregate I'd be in very serious danger of becoming teetotal. Sometimes I think my drinking efforts ape a lot of my school reports: 'must try harder.'

@tikkathree That is one of the best things I’ve seen on this forum full stop. How much of the watch sale went to the foundation? A great news story in some very difficult times. Heart warming stuff. Des Des on my way to Mongolia I stopped by at the archives for you: " The C63 SH21 Snow Leopard...

Damn! When I saw this thread title I thought someone had finally received one of the FLE watches. I was stoked to see it in the flesh. Oh well…

Re: Non CW of the Day
After mentioning this on another thread I thought id wear it today. Detailing the car ready for a car meet tonight. Im going in the car, not the bike, but as this is my only motorsport themed watch I may as well give it a day out! Not that I need an excuse as I adore this thing. Ive been asked a co...

Re: FLE 2023 Launch Announcement
This thread and subject matter is starting to remind me of those seaside trips you took with your folks as a very young child, enduring a lengthy drive in the family car.. You: fizzing over with excited expectation. "Are we there yet?" Mum and dad: "Not yet darling, just a little furt...

You say you've just retired. Do you mind me asking who you played for: Man City, Liverpool, Arsenal perhaps? That's quite a leaving present.

Re: A poll because I’m just curious
Some lovely looking examples of RN's in this thread, whether full dial or not. Personally, I don't think anyone does them better than Cartier. It seems to be the boldness of the numerals and the way they slope. Then there's the the name Cartier being contained the the V of the VII numeral, such a tr...

Re: A poll because I’m just curious
Don’t own one, but I’d like to. There’s a timeless elegance going on. I think you can dress them up or down, like a pair of handmade brogues. Since turning 50 I’ve decided to age in Roman numerals. Presently LV which sounds so much more refined.

Switched up for this afternoon. My long awaited Redux HONNR in Grade 5 Titanium. Re: CBMVic20 - December 2023 (round 2)
Just read your SOTC post, very good. Some lovely watches in there; Really like the C65 SH21, I can see it becoming a classic too. The Ernst Benz is impressive also, not least for its size. Your knowledge of yellow and all its shades made me chuckle. I'm guessing you flipped the tooth plaque watch pr...

Re: Little Black Dress (I mean - DIVER)!
This. I think it meets the brief!? It’s a quartz which is no problem for me. So comfortable and it gives me three means of timing my pasta. 😂 The basic brief in my mind at least of a dive watch is one that can time your pasta without needing three subdials and a tachymeter scale to work it out :lol...
