Re: What is this movement like?

I bet the submariners loved those skull & crossbones...one in the eye for the navy! Stupidly I had always thought Elliot Brown were an American brand, but it seems they are based in Dorset, of all places.

Re: Pristine Packaging for Early LED Quartz Watch...

I'd prefer to use them (carefully and responsibly) and then pass them onto descendants - who will hopefully want it just as much because it was mine, as because of what it is). What if your descendants want to sell these watches when they inherit them? Maybe they would appreciate having the packagi...

Re: IWC Petite Big Pilot

I see the strap is calfskin; IWC have used crocodile/alligator skin in the past (and still on some current models), which can complicate importing/exporting more difficult because of CITES paperwork and charges.

Re: CW Survey

I am on the Christopher Ward mailing list, and I get marketing emails from them, but I have not received the survey email. Is this because I do not actually own any CW watches?

Re: Right to Repair Law

Isn’t the retailers justification that you can always buy a cheaper watch?...OK maybe not the same model or brand, but for any watch you might name, there is always a cheaper model that does “the same thing” - tells the time.

Re: A day being surprised by watches

I envy your AD experience. I only got into watches last August, and my four purchases were all online only, because of ‘rona. I am looking forward to the day when I go into my first AD and try some potentials on in the flesh. I must admit, pictures I have seen of Rolexes and Omegas don’t inspire me,...

My friend sent me some anti-virus aromatherapy oil, which coincidentally arrived the day I had my first jag!
I am not sure you should be running your jag on aromatherapy oil.

HAM showed his usual great skill in managing his tyres so he had just enough to benefit from the lucky break when VER exceeded the track limits. A great race!

Re: Coronavirus Vaccine.

I just can't get into the mindset of people who don't want the vaccine, especially if they are in a higher risk group, and their decision is based on misinformation. There is so much evidence now on how safe and effective the vaccines are, compared to conspiracy theories (5G/microchips/blood clots) ...

Re: Ward Hoard??

I would not go so far as to call him a scalper. He has obviously found a way to make money out of buying cheap and then selling (in very good condition/new) for a bit more, especially once the original model is no longer available from CW. The current scalpers for GPUs are buying up pretty much all ...

OP, you have a very long forearm, and I am not keen on how your shirtsleeve is divided into compartments.

I like the OP's logo + namemark combination - less is more in my opinion.

Yes, all the mechanical chronographs I have seen tend to have thick cases, 14mm plus.
