Re: MiniMpi - September 2021

Such a fantastic collection Ferg, and some exceptional pieces within.

Is your MK3 Jumping Hour the 40 or 43 size?

Re: Bremont Project Possible

Just catching up on this, and I've got to say, the Project Possible is a stunning piece - a great purchase, and I'm also interested to see how the patina develops. I've become a huge fan of Bremont over the past year. Their watches fit me perfectly, feel solid, and on the occasions where I've needed...

Re: Have CW sent me a “returned” watch?

I think the statement above from Mike France sums it up nicely. Though I've received a NN and it had so many marks that I did make a 60/60 claim, as it was still a significant amount of money. But if you're not happy with a new item, customer services is the best place to start. Best of luck!

Really interesting to follow this - I have mine on leather currently, but may look into a bracelet at some point now!

Re: Ward Hoard

I recently got in touch with Ward Hoard, and found Dan to be quick, honest and professional in his response. No transactions as yet, but certainly a site I'm keeping an eye on.

This has been interesting to follow. I found this and thought it might be useful, though Kip's links are also very good: https://mondaine.com/blogs/news/waterpr ... -resistant

chris210972 wrote: Mon Jun 28, 2021 3:18 pm Hi everyone,
Just wondering what price I should be looking at for a pre-owned C8 UTC Worldtimer. There aren't many available and I'm not sure what would be a realistic price and ensure I'm not paying over the odds.

Thanks in advance
Did you manage to pick up a UTC, or are you still looking?

Re: Same old, Same old from CW?

I feel there's still innovation and excitement within the brand, though some of my favourites are generally older models. The variety seems to have become more limited, but I wonder if this has been prompted by the pandemic, and the need to deliver sales as a priority.

Re: Affordable minute repeater?

I'm in awe of the mechanics behind a minute repeater, and would love to see one in action, though it's not a watch for me regrettably.

Re: Oh what a dilemma!

It seems crazy not to go for it. At least if you're asked, "is that a new watch", your answer is truthfully "no". How you follow that up will determine your destiny :D

Re: Dress watch?

CW certainly looked to be shifting a lot of their dressier watches in recent sales. For me, it's a balance of simplicity and case size, so the closest I guess I have is the C1 Power Reserve (which I'm selling). I love my Jumping Hour, but it's perhaps a bit too tall.

Re: Shoddy service

Last year - just as the first lockdown was looming - I returned my wife’s CW to them as there was a fault with it - a silver decoration had come lose. In June I heard from CW that they couldn’t fix it - here’s me thinking a couple of drops of glue to replace the decoration. Their solution was a new...

Re: C60 #tide

I think they're both striking watches, and I personally prefer the larger cases. There are similarities for sure with the LE, but hopefully the difference specs will allow more people to enjoy the design and a CW. My first CW was the C60 Bronze Ombré which I lusted over for ages, and had to track do...

Re: How Does the C60 Elite 1000 Wear?

Hands down, the most comfortable CW I've owned, but the Ti did pick up scratches easier than my steel versions. A worthwhile compromise though.
