Re: New CW Sealander Chronograph

On the Instagram announcement it says it’s “the first chronograph of 2024” so there may be more on the way this year? And I've got a suggestion for the next marketing theme. I'm not much of a fan of MOD branded watches, and CW have already covered cars and quartz chronos. So I was thinking about wh...

Re: New CW Sealander Chronograph

Well, I've just been reading the Fratello launch report on the new Chrono and it seems all my conspiracy theories are just that. Here is the reason in black and white.... "The reason for making this watch a quartz chronograph is that the British Military’s quartz watches from the 1980s inspired...

Re: New CW Sealander Chronograph

A great looking watch and great value too. Im not really into chronograph watches so I'll admire from afar. I'm very interested in the story behind the watch though. After MFs comments only three years ago I wonder what's changed? I think these are the movements from ETA that Certina use in their pr...

Re: New CW Sealander Chronograph

Am I the only one reminded of the recent C65 AM GT quartz chronos, by this teaser? I seem to recall CW had to discount them lots to sell the final ones despite them being COSC certified thermo quartz models? Apologies if I've got my wires crossed , but are CW going to risk a repeat? Or has the appet...

Re: HOW MUCH!!?? (service shock)...

Seiko only publish service charges for their "basic" (4R?) movement on their website. The 6R and complex/ better movements are POA, which is why I revived the post, to include this info. But I do agree , that it would be desirable for all manufacturers to display service charges.

Re: HOW MUCH!!?? (service shock)...

Just resurrecting this post as I've a bit of up to date information to add that may be of interest. I recently had to send one of my Seiko 6R35 watches back to Seiko UK in Maidenhead as it had started losing over 1 minute per day despite not having been misused or damaged. The watch was a few weeks ...

Re: The twelve ti new colours.

Well its entirely possible that I am, and I'd hate to sound like one of those that complains; why don't they make this watch in that size and this colour, just for me, which I probably do! The insight into the gradient dials and size is interesting if a little perplexing. If at the design stage they...

Re: The twelve ti new colours.

I think we all accept that either the 36 or 40 size can be worn by anyone of any gender. So it seems odd that CW have then decided that presumably humans with smaller wrists predominantly choose pastel shades, and those with larger wrists prefer bolder colours. Now statistically I think we can all m...

Re: The twelve ti new colours.

Indeed, you are entirely correct. But you can't have the pastel colours in the 40mm, and similarly, I cant choose the bolder, or just a plain grey 36mm model.

Now that isnt an accident.

Re: The twelve ti new colours.

Despite CW claiming that their watches are unisex, I feel this is a slightly disingenuous claim, when it seems to me that the colours offered in the 36 range are clearly more feminine. Well that's my perception. What makes a colour feminine some may argue, and its not easy to define or even state th...

Re: Forum photo attachment function seems to have stopped stripping Exif

Yes , I was able to view the location that was taken at by downloading and opening in gallery. Seems to be a recent change, as I tried some others on the forum and it didn't show me any details. Hopefully the mods can disable that once again (please?!) as most phones record the location by default (...

Have you ever liked a watch enough to buy it twice?

Like many of you, I'm always on the lookout for the next watch purchase, and keep a regular look out on all the usual websites that promote all the the new releases. For some time now I've been looking at the Dune range.... so much about it was perfect for my tastes when it arrived, but for some rea...
