Re: Tribus Watches

I have just purchased one at 70% off. I paid an extra £30 for the bracelet option, but still under £180. Out of interest, I note there is no direct contact phone number for Tribus, just email. On reflection, that's not the most comforting position, I think. I wonder if they are regretting terminatin...

Re: Bit confused on the C60 Trident Bronze Ombré COSC Limited Edition

Thanks, so from looking there it seems like there were several releases and the 2019 one was the 300 count? Either way I've pulled the trigger on the current one for sale :)! I imagine when they get a sucessful limited edition model they can re-release it as a new limited edition with some variatio...

Re: The Curmudgeons Corner

I just spent 10 minutes editing a response to a thread, and I lost it when I posted it, but the CW website decided my login had lapsed. Grrrrrr.

Re: CW Blue Tide and Cordovan Straps – Pictures and Thoughts?

Dagnabbit, Musky! CW website seems not to have the blue Cordovan available now, so I will drop an email to Declan to see if any more are expected. I just looked, and the 22mm blue on the website looks a lighter blue than the blue I have, so maybe something changed. They used to do a dark brown and ...

Re: C63 Sealander Collection

It might not be as easy to actually go smaller than 39mm. It depends on how big the movement actually is. 25.6mm. There's quite a few 36mm watches using the SW200-1. Thanks for that. That's quite small then . If it's just a matter of changing the case and hand size, and maybe changing the lug width...

Re: C63 Sealander Collection

It wouldn't surprise me if they don't produce the same design in 41.5mm at some point. I think I would be more likely to buy a sealander at a bigger size.

Re: New Sealander GMT Hand Alignment

^^^^ 1. I suppose it's a matter of the accuracy of installation of the hand, but there may be a bit more to it than simply that. Perhaps it's affected by gravity and other things. 2,3,4. probably relate to design tolerances, and presumably cost. 5. GS charge a lot to deal with this, I understand 6. ...

Re: CW Blue Tide and Cordovan Straps – Pictures and Thoughts?

 Thanks, guys. That gives a better view than the website. I like it. I just have to add a personal observation that I think the CW cordovan straps are at least equal to any other watch strap I have. My speedy came on an Omega alligator strap which costs over £500 but I prefer the co...

Re: CW Blue Tide and Cordovan Straps – Pictures and Thoughts?

The cordovan is super luxurious. The blue is very dark, a midnight blue. I have several CW Cordovans. I prefer the smooth leather to an alligator pattern. They smell luxurious. I'm struggling to find a picture of the blue, but this is the black in 20mm on a speedy Edit. Found some. This is the blue ...

Re: The Alliance of British Watch & Clock Makers

I struggle to see how a number of British watchmakers can share components. Are they all going to make identical watches of identical size with the same crystal and case backs? I can't think many components would be common between manufacturers.

The box is neat as well. I wonder if all 50 boxes are the same, or whether the box matches the watch?
