I quite like ice cream. I think I'll just stay away from sharks - especially the devious ones.I think the real lesson here is that it’s probably just safest to stay away from ice cream. I mean, you never know, right? Sharks are devious

More of a Beer & Whisky man myself, but if that's the worst you've bought after too much wine then I would say you're doing well - I'll bet it still looks nice when the parcel arrives!

Re: Vostok Mod Question...
The short answer is - I don't know. Which probably isn't very helpful. I've noticed from reviews that many micro brands (though not all) use a Seiko date mechanism on watches without a date window, so it can't really do any harm. Vostok mechanisms are legendary for rugged reliability and long servic...

Re: Daft thread: Moly, Ratty, Badger or Toad?
Yes, very clever. Me? if any at all, "Badger on a budget" is closest - though I try to be pretty tolerant when it comes to watches and other peoples taste.

Re: Tribus Watches
I've said it before but - I think that they were a bit late in bringing out their LFC range, particularly with the 'champions' link. Fair enough, ambition is good and they could hardly have predicted the impact of the global pandemic. What is less palatable is the sneering on their facebook page abo...

Re: Cheap(er) alternative to a Hirsch Robby?
+1 for the Barton elite silicone. Really good strap for not much money. 'Pumpkin' is probably a good match? They also do a rubber backed/leather faced strap - £35 on Amazon which might be worth looking at, depends on how limited funds are (and not really the colour your Son wants).

I was wondering myself why the fuss about size - I read it at 0.8mm. I know that there's always a 'tipping point', but really?C'mon gents. An extra millimetre?

Bit of a bugger if you put something down though - I could read a book faster than find it in there.

Re: Looking for a small(ish) beater, preferably analog
Seiko 5 sports would be a good choice. If it doesn't come on a suitable strap, Barton are a good budget choice - the silicone take contact with fluids well for not much money. If you want a "field watch" why not go for the real deal? I wear a CWC quartz while out gardening, though the face can scrat...

Re: CW Survey
I swear it sounds like they sent out differently versions of the survey. It's really not that difficult when constructing a survey to have different questions pop up depending om the response given e.g. "have you bought product x?" if yes, then you get some questions on the buying process etc., if ...

Re: CW Survey
I would have thought that people could only be "selected for surveys" if the organisation concerned already has reasonably detailed demographic information about the people concerned. That's why, when you are asked to participate in a proper survey (e.g. MORI), they ask you all those questions first...
