Re: Nato advice for C60 Trident Pro 600 Blue 42mm

I think it would look great on a "Bond" Nato, the grey striped kind. I have a Vario elastic single-pass that is super-comfortable. Don't forget that as your watch has existing quick release strap and bracelet, you will need a pair of spring bars. Absolutely agree with @kiter65, get yoursel...

Discussion: Maturing as a collector

I'd really like this thread to be about sharing stories. I know I would learn a lot and guess many others would too. It's a long train trip home from Sydney city, where all the cool watches are, with plenty of time to contemplate the experience. Yesterday I had my Grail on my wrist - Cartier Santos ...

Re: Breguet Type XXI 3815 Chronograph - Should I?

For what my comment is worth, I'd be sticking with what you have. No-date simplicity, the more "natural" beauty to my eyes, which see these new ones as looking for a reason to be different. I also see the smaller size as being "more in keeping". I may be biased of course. Bezel a...

Re: Oris Aquis Calibre 400 41.5mm - New release

Getting into BB58 territory on price. That said, it's quite a different watch and a good alternative in the marketplace. Will be interesting to see how well it does. I do wish them well with it. SH21 as an alternative offering in a regular C60? Bring it on. I wonder if production capacity is what ho...

Re: The "what watch are you day dreaming about now" thread

They have one of these at Cartier in Sydney and Saturday afternoon I am going to try it on the wrist, has to be done. I may have to sit down whilst I do this: the risk of going weak at the knees, you know :) The 2018 update with the bezel that flows into the bracelet is just genius. That a watch wit...

Yes indeed, Steve. But I'll forgive him for that. Focussed on what for me were the pertinent issues and slam-dunked it.

Re: Found my grail but what do you make of this?

Quick FYI if folks are interested. It was THIS video that sealed the deal, by the oddly named Youtube channel "YoureTerrific". Really well done I thought. Man oh Man I am smitten.

Re: I was never going to buy this watch!

My 16cm wrist says no you are joking.
That said: this is some kind of watch. Congrats and enjoy into the future in good health.
Good to see the Paneristi out in force too.

Re: Found my grail but what do you make of this?

Time to summarise and address some comments, round about anyway. Do you FIND a grail or does it find you? The Santos fairly slapped me in the face in the end. X factor, history, uniqueness, style. Value of itself doesn't enter into it. The GS-SD was really fine, more "value" and I remain i...

Re: Found my grail but what do you make of this?

Hmmm...I was simply comparing the price of the quartz Santos with the GS because it just jumped out at me having had a good look into that GS... Bang for buck certainly the GS is the "winner" but I don't think grails, or any higher-end watch for that matter are just about that. The GS is a...

Re: Found my grail but what do you make of this?

Oh definitely Steve. The Santos 35 Auto is really the only watch I've seen that really makes me think grail and I've looked at/into plenty of watches. Even things like VCs and JLCs and the like are are "Yeah, but...". This one no such thing. I was really more interested in what people made...

Re: Found my grail but what do you make of this?

I'll certainly go for the Santos auto, done deal there. I've got to a place now where another watch needs to have X factor. The GS is not so different to my Tissot in a many ways.

But nonetheless I thought the dollar for dollar comparison of the other 2 was kinda interesting.

Found my grail but what do you make of this?

For me: 2020 was the year of putting together some sort of collection. Happy with how that went. 2021 is the year of just 3 and that's done and dusted. BB58 Blue, Big Eye and on pre-order C63 White GMT. Things are looking really good. 2022 is the year of the grail and there's saving to do. It had to...
