Re: Early morning thoughts on movements...
I think there is too much unconsidered importance placed on ‘in-house movements’ […] I have no problem that ETA and Sellita and others produce good, time-tested, robust, serviceable movements for the industry. I agree entirely. Plus, I prefer movements that are straightforward and not-stupidity-exp...

Re: “The Twelve” is live
The CW watches I own, I didn't buy them because they were a knock off of a more expensive watch brand. I bought them because they looked good and their own style. It's as if CW feels that they need to link their watches as a budget version of someone else's more expensive watch and I don't think lo...

Re: “The Twelve” is live
At least this element of their marketing is consistent, even though it is consistently annoying in my view. There must be some demographic who loves it? It’s not my demographic, and I’m a CW customer with considerable potential to be a repeat customer. I want CW to advertise their watches on their ...

That advert is awful — it puts me off buying The Twelve.watchaholic wrote: ↑Sun May 14, 2023 9:03 pmI agree. It’s not the first time, if I’m not mistaken and I don’t quite get it.
What on earth was CW’s marketing department thinking?

I also love the Nordic blue and hope it becomes available for the titanium version. I’d join the payment queue.

Which will be The Twelve’s next dial colours?
Yes, I know, The Twelve has barely been born. But speculation is fun; which dial colours do you think we should see next? I’m hoping for more options for the titanium version — I love the Ti model but hate the initial two choices of dial. However, which colours would you like to see emerge eventually?

@magicman The watch looks lovely.
I hope that light blue coloured dial becomes an option for the titanium Twelve, too.

Re: Why all the negativity towards CW?
Some of the people on that thread seem more conscious of the label than the product’s quality.
Although I reckon CW’s brand equity is rising, catalysed by high-quality products and innovation.

Me, too! Although it would be bad for my bank accountMypocketlint wrote: ↑Mon Apr 24, 2023 3:39 pm That is exciting! Would love to see more titanium from CW!
I’d love to see CW use hardened titanium (à la Citizen Duratect and Seiko DiaShield) or Grade 5 Ti.

Re: Which brand did you "upgrade" to after Christopher Ward?
I’ve ended up ricocheting around within my price range and my last three purchases have been a Damasko, C60 and a Citizen Eco Drive. Respectively for their case finishing, dial colour and movement. I too bought a Damasko for its (outstanding!) case finishing. Superb. If you plump for a forged carbo...

Re: Which brand did you "upgrade" to after Christopher Ward?
I don't understand the idea that watch collecting is a linear journey that takes you away from CW. I bought a Zenith El Primero and then turned around and picked up a nearly new C60 Sapphire. Was one an upgrade over the other? I would say both are high quality, serving different niches. +1 :thumbup...

Re: Why all the negativity towards CW?
I said that I think the C60 300 is a better buy than the Sinn 104 (especially with how much Sinn costs now in 2023) people lost their ****. This one guy on watchuseek threw a hissyfit and called me a troll because I was "insulting a forum favorite comparing it to a controversial brand with no ...

Re: Why all the negativity towards CW?
I think deep down they know that CW offers unbeatable value and objectively you're getting the same finishing quality of watches that costs thousands more and they don't want to see their precious heritage brands look bad so they try to cheapen CW by saying it's like San Martin. You could well be r...
