Re: Noush - May 2021

^^ ^^ Hi Chris, I think you've got a really wearable collection there. You've really though about it, and nothing is surplus to your requirements. I'm attaching this link I wrote about a watch box I bought. It only holds six watches so you'd need two. This would give you the option to place the boxe...

Re: C63 Sealander Collection

I think that if you guys tried it the 39s would be quite wearable. All of the vintage Rolex cases are 39. I have a 7.5 inch wrist. My watches range from 36 to 45. Diameter is really only a starting point (lug to lug is far more important IMO). 40 inch dial only watches look far bigger on wrist than...

Re: Watches and politics

^^ ^^ Interesting, Chris, enjoyed your thoughts. You mention a 'dislike for extravagance', yet I think this hobby of ours often leads to extravagance. It obviously depends on person's definition of extravagance. To some, having more than one watch, full stop, would be an extravagance. To others, spe...

Re: Watches and politics

Is there a link between the two? Perhaps it's not politics, more the approach to how you lead your life. How you view things in general. What are your thoughts? And remember, it's just a bit of fun. I've reiterated a number of times this post is not about politics, but it isn't being picked u...

Re: Watches and politics

An interesting post Des. Personally, the watches I choose, the fashion I adopt, the characteristics I look for are likely an extension of the same personality traits I adopt in other choices. Subdued, functional, engineered. Looking around me I have my North Flag- solid, toolish, happy to blend int...

Re: Watches and politics

An interesting post Des - in which you make a number of observations. I will give some thought to a reply. :) However in the meantime, given that you are the OP, what are your views on the topic? Yes you have made a few observations, but to raise the topic, you must have in mind that cert...

Watches and politics

Is there a link between the two? Perhaps it's not politics, more the approach to how you lead your life. How you view things in general. Do you see your politics/how you view things in a more conservative way; are you quite measured, ordered, not one for bucking the status quo? Perhaps you're more l...

Highly decorated movement: Sweetcorn and bell pepper seem to pass through almost undigested.

Presage: Showing good scholarly instincts but by no means the oracle at Delphi.

Loving this watch.

Me too. Not because it's a Rolex but because it's a picture of perfection. Total stunner.

Re: New watch disappointment

Funnily enough I felt this way when I got to try on the BB58 blue when it has first come out. The previous version had been the darling of the internet. I went in to the AD wearing a quartz £500 diver that I love. When the 58 was presented to me it felt small, delicate, almost like a jewellery item....

Re: nbg - May 2021 - a selection of #GODO

I really like the look of the Milgauss, I remember seeing one in an AD window not so long ago and the colours really popped. the green around the crystal was quite something. I'm not sure blue, green and orange could work any better.

Re: C63 Sealander Collection

Alfred Wainwright walked all over the Lake District in a suit and tie, wearing shoes, although as Borough Treasurer of Kendal he could, by then, be described as middle-class (and rather eccentric). I love this image, particularly as a mountain enthusiast. I think we can all agree, times and tastes ...
