An outstanding photo of a really eye catching watch, love it.

Re: Is less more?

Reading through this thread I think the one singular event that has caused people to ponder this question is COVID. The pandemic has changed our lifestyles beyond recognition, and not for a few weeks but for eighteen months and counting. Many of us had different watches for different social settings...

Have to admit it looks OK to me, just the tiniest rock. I’m not sure you could call that play…could you?

Re: Rolex a discussion

Nothing really new here. It has all been discussed in the thread. What drew my attention was a £35k Nautilus selling for £500k. There are a lot of people with very deep pockets these days. A bit of watch inflation is neither here nor there.

Re: A Watermelon Watch

That's a lot of fun and a great summer watch, as others have mentioned. I'm not a fan of all the dial text and it's placement, seems a bit random to me. Just the brand name at 12 and mechanical at 6 would have sufficed. The ST-19 chrono movement is always so visually satisfying. I find myself wantin...

The Breh-mon HQ looks rather swanky doesn't it!! I bet that was a lot of fun. I think I would have been rather distracted by that gorgeous E-Type...boys toys and all that.

Re: Good things come to those that wait. But what is it?

Well after one week of ownership this one is in danger of becoming my favourite dive watch. :) It has certainly made it to the “if I kept a dozen watches” list. Neil What a superb watch and photo, Neil. I love the proportions on it, so balanced. The vintage vibes and sandwich dial is lovely. The la...

They're quite nice, and reasonably priced. Very different and engaging dials.

Re: The race for Emma's wrist space

Well, Guy, From what I've seen of Emma's tennis I can't see her being a fly-by-night. She has unbelievable talent and should win many, many grand slams. Any brands looking to her, watch or otherwise, are going to be engaging a global marketing powerhouse with potentially very long longevity. Maybe C...

lovely watch you've got there. Really like the little lume pips at the end of each index. Nice the way the crown logo aligns perfectly, too. looks to be in great condition.

Re: Is less more?

I’ve delayed responding to this because I’ve been having an internal battle with myself over the last few months. My collection is at about 17, and sometimes I feel bad if I haven’t worn one for a while. But every time I think about selling one, I just plain don’t want to. I like having it in my co...

Re: CWL of the day

My Sandhurst on a homemade bund strap. Watches led me to looking for the perfect watch strap, which led to learning leatherwork. Been doing that for a couple of months now. Easier than I thought but I’ve probably spent enough money on tools by now to buy a couple of dozen straps. That looks really ...

Re: The race for Emma's wrist space

Personally, I think Emma would look really good wearing a Cartier, although I don't think endorsement is their thing. With her slender frame, lovely colouring, not to mention poise, a stainless steel model would look so elegant. The maison has always had a tradition of adorning the wrists of Europea...

Wow, what a story, not to mention ordeal. By default I’d say you have something of an aviators watch there, what with all those transatlantic crossings. Love the strap btw.

Re: Is less more?

It's a yes from me. I'm now down to 2 (bar 1 in SC) and find it much more enjoyable with each one getting a good amount of wear. I honestly can't see me owning any more than 3 watches moving forward. I've had thoughts of a single 'grail' watch, but I'm not totally sold on the idea just yet. I think...
