Re: Red Bezels - bit flashy or a tasteful pop of colour?

I’ve only ever had a comment about a red bezel watch, they said it looked expensive! Red bezels are definitely not too flashy, now a red dial watch that exactly matches your Ferrari… Red bezel with a black dial just works too, a bit like black dials and brown leather straps, the look just works! I w...

Re: Buying on ebay - tips for a dummy

As someone who has bought (and sold) dozens of CW on eBay, with a few precautions as you have been advised already, it is probably the safest was to buy pre-owned (I do enjoy using the forum sales more, interacting with fellow CW fans is part of the experience). EBay’s money back guarantee is very m...

Re: Used vs new prices

Out of interest, which models are off by £100’s? I’d like to take look in order to verify the archive, or understand if there’s an error of some sort. A few examples (chosen based on my recent buys/sells): Recent sold prices for mk3 C60 GMT (38mm) on eBay £450 (2 straps), £410 (strap), £477 (bracel...

Re: Used vs new prices

Finally, the archive can be useful but in my experience can be a bit off the mark, not sure if it’s because of where the sales are recorded or based on exchange rates but the U.K. conversion can be £100s off for some models. Out of interest, which models are off by £100’s? I’d like to take look in ...

Re: Used vs new prices

So here’s my take on it as a buyer (and seller) of probably 25+ CW watches: I will avoid taking specifics because it might breach forum rules 😳 The used prices can be punishing if compared to the CW list, but once the original owner has taken the hit, used prices are fairly stable for the next few y...

Re: C65 GMT mk1 vs mk2, what’s the difference?

I asked customer services about bracelet compatibility (using the mk1 and mk2 designations, which probably confused things) and they said the mk2 bracelet does not fit the mk1 watch, they must have thought I meant the C65 mk1. I think they may have been confused with a C60. In the photo above, both...

@rkovars, wow and a huge thank you for the detail and effort of your response, particularly the bracelet part, the photo really helped with my understanding. C65 GMT mk1 vs mk2, what’s the difference?

I’ve tried to answer this question by google and searching the forum but to no avail, so here goes. I am the proud owner of a black “mk1” C65 GMT 41mm, but I’m thinking of trading for a blue “mk2” GMT. I’m trying to find out the following; 1. Was there ever a mk1 GMT! It’s not listed as such on the ...

Re: NPD T4 project

Regarding the word mark branding, how about engraving the full Christopher Ward on the rehaut ala the big crown?

Re: NPD T4 project

As MissF has said, less bling. The polished dial and shiny bezel are very pre-COVID opulence, feels out of step with the times and is why the mk3 didn’t stay in my collection, I’d like to see more texture, even if this is not waves on the dial. Hand set needs to be tweaked to make it less aggressive...

Re: 100M waterproof vs 150M water resistant?

I’ll admit to being a bit scared of taking my C65 GMT with 150m water resistance swimming, this is mostly because of the lack of screw down crown That's just daft. It's no more or less water resistant to 150m than a watch with a screw down crown. Oh totally daft, I agree! I’ve happily swam with 50m...

Re: C65 GMT, GMT hand sloppy

Just a follow up to complete this thread. I’ve checked the manual that came with the watch and it says it’s an ETA 2892-2. I ran the watch and the power reserve was going strong even after 43hrs in the watch box, plus it’s running at +3spd, so the movement seems to be good otherwise. I reset the GMT...

Re: C65 GMT, GMT hand sloppy

Thanks for the replies. The vintage of this particular watch is 2018 so may have the ETA 2892-2 or the Sellita SW330. I let the watch run for 24h and the GMT hand slipped a bit. I’ve reset the watch with perfect alignment and will see if it slips again. It’s still in warranty so if there’s an issue ...

C65 GMT, GMT hand sloppy

Hi, I’ve just picked myself up a C65 GMT and I totally adore it, however there seems to be sloppiness in the GMT hand. Example, if I pull out the crown and set the time to say 20:00, but I move the minute hand quickly past the 12 o clock position, and then slowly back to 12 o clock, the gmt hand is ...
