Re: Tag Heuer Carrera Skipper - an expensive CW?
I can of course see the broad similarities in dial design etc. I would say the design of the CW displays some inspiration from 60s, 70s Heuer I.e. Early sailing chronos and even the soccer time etc. Its not surprising though as CW doesn't have a decade's old back catalogue of historic models to plun...

Re: Why do you wear your watch?
Lots of the reasons already called out in this thread. Adornment, aesthetic, personal image, appreciation of the craft etc. Also and quite importantly its a thing (one of very few) I do totally and absolutely for me. it's my thing, my indulgence, my money, my aesthetic, my interest and my time! Irre...

Re: Flik-Flak - kids watches for watchaholics?
Stif They are indeed brilliant, my son had 1 (or 2 kept on losing them). When they get to 10 as mine has now he progressed to a more grown up Swatch in c.28mm on a silicon strap which is easy to cut down to size if small wrists. He feels like it's a proper watch like mine 🙂 Swatch do some things ve...

Re: Incoming... It’s here!
Great pickup Lindsey, I was only researching the ultrachron at the weekend. I think the advice re the case/movement numbers is spot on. Having done quite a lot of research on late 60s early 70s Heuers I found much of what has been already been said is true to form, sketchy records, movement servicin...

My 1st porsche was an early 911sc in brown with pasha brown trim interior, like this though this isn't mine, it doesn't have enough welding or rust and way too shiny..

Re: Looking for suggestions for a fun red strap
I have a nice proper red leather I acquired a while ago along with a blue of the same type (I used the blue but popped the red in the box), I'll dig it out over the weekend and see where it's from, possibly Sectime. I seem to remember it was a cheapish sale item and but can't remember if 20 or 22mm.

Re: For Porsche lovers
Let's see how they handle this approach: Fuchs at the front, TechDel Minilites at the rear. Why? In period, early 1970s Fuchs didn't offer a wide enough width. I need to have a cold shower. https://i0.wp.com/thechicane.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/71S-rocker-deco-B.jpg Oh, yes please. You ...

Amongst the thousands of watches that have passed through your hands I'm sure there must be some solid suggestions. Size - 41-42mm pretty firm on this Case - Titanium Height- target under 14mm Ide...
