Re: Are we representative of CWL buyers
it was probably a boy half-way through public school who got the task of composing that motto. Perhaps we should be more understanding. I don't see why! I did actually give those to my Scholarship and Common Entrance Level 3 set a couple of years ago. "Deus Maris Altum" took t...

Re: Are we representative of CWL buyers
I've been doing some googling and the only RAF unit I can find using that motto is 2515 Squadron which is an Air Cadets unit near the south coast, founded in 1941, so it was probably a boy half-way through public school who got the task of composing that motto. Perhaps we should be more understandin...

Re: Are we representative of CWL buyers
Heh. Well, it seems that the thread title is correct in that Classics teachers are representative of CW buyers, as there are at least three of us on this forum... But yes, pervenio pro astrum is definitely not getting an A*. Perhaps a 'Life Of Brian' style Latin lesson is required by whoever came up...

Re: Are we representative of CWL buyers
Are you a Latin teacher, tempusfugit? Me too.
As it happens I was going to offer to CW that I would happily proof all their subsequent attempts at Latin mottos free of charge; having read your tale I'm not sure I'll bother

Re: The "what watch are you day dreaming about now" thread
Have had a small but totally unexpected windfall of a couple of hundred quid and am probably going to indulge my long-standing desire for a B-Uhr watch. Front-runner at the moment, value for money being the biggest priority, is a Steinhart Nav B-Uhr Type B in 44mm size: http://www.steinhartwatches....

Re: Comparing the old and new C65s side by side.
Good to see a direct comparison between the two. My verdict: Positives: I like the fact it's available in a 38mm and I don't mind the new hands, but that's about it. Negatives: the new logo is just terrible , then again I seem to be in a minority on here in that I really like the previous CHR. WARD ...

Re: It's the overall DESIGN that matters
Matter of opinion. I think the Trident second hand - on all the watches on which it appears - is a wonderful touch and I really like it.

Re: New Website
Looking through the site again, I can forgive CW a lot for bringing out an all-brushed steel bracelet in 20mm.
So do I get that as a second strap for my Trident (currently on a NATO) or the mesh?
It's going to be both, isn't it?

I liked the old 'Chr. Ward London' logo; really not sure about the new one, which looks like an afterthought.

On the plus side they seem to be selling their mesh straps as additional items now, so I will get one for my Trident.

Re: Next Gen Trident Classic Wish List
I really liked the C65 Mark I as a design. My only requests would be: 1) Can we have a 38mm version please (looks, to be fair, like this is 99% certain to happen). I have 7.25 inch wrists but still feel that 42/43mm looks a bit "rap star" chunky on me. 2) Quartz versions too please, as the...
