Re: Advise on the “feel” of new watch movemetn

Can HIGHLY recommend WatchGecko spring bars. Have bought loads, never had a problem. They feel and look high quality but are way cheaper than a tenner (and there are three in a pack). For the C60s, the 600 bracelet end links have quite small diameter holes, so go with the SST (standard) spring bars,...

Re: Paint has come off He valve, Elite 1000

Sorry if I have missed in the above posts, but isn't the paint ALSO coming off around 2 o clock and 6 o clock, on the ring around the HE? Might be the light, but if not, then this is far more serious and aesthetically-unpleasing than 'just' the paint off the "E". Am I wrong? In my experien...

Re: Omega Moonwatch help please.

All the above. Before I bought mine from Watch Obsession, had several ADs offer between 10-15% without any real effort. Good to see you decided to get on the bracelet.

Re: Calling speedmaster moonwatch (hesalite) owners

Mine is perfectly aligned every time I reset it. Only downside is the +11s/d which is frustrating on a watch I wear most days to work and wind at least every other day, especially with my OCD for second/minute hand alignment and it being non-hackable. (I do occasionally use the crown pressure hack b...

Re: New Members!!

Tiger Chris, it's part of why I (mostly) stopped posting here. The Forum, too often, just became so negative with the bashing of CW, or with personal attacks, by people who weren't watch enthusiasts but saw the forum as some opportunity to take a pound of flesh. Often, rather ignorantly, in my opini...

Re: Looking for an Omega suggestion.

I recommend going dressy. Either vintage Omega like SM30 (mine here at https://www.christopherwardforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=63&t=43952) Or an AT - my favourite is the older vertical stripes, Great thread here https://www.christopherwardforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=44383&p=696958&hil...

I've just asked my wife what she thinks of Mormonism. Unfortunately, I will have to decline this wonderful offer.

Re: New watch outlet

Thanks for that. Hadn't heard of the other branches. I was left with the impression that they were in some way sponsored by the Swatch Group but further research suggests this is unlikely. But this particularly branch seemed only to sell Swatch Group products. I would therefore say it was an outlet...

Just seen this for the first time, Guy. I am sorry for your loss and wish you my best at this most difficult of times. What especially sticks in my mind is your continued contribution here over the past year, your balanced and courteous posts, when you has such terrible weight on your mind as you ba...

Finally, a new CW watch I could buy (with no childish word marks in sight), despite some wonderful recent designs.

Re: Suggestion please

May I recommend, from personal experience, the wonders of a vintage Omega Seamaster (an SM30 in my case)? No date, manual wind and 35mm but wears bigger due to thin bezel. I paid just over £300 in a lucky win on eBay for an all original version recently serviced by Austin Kaye. With some patience, I...
