Re: NPD T4 project

I think the most letters put on a watch dial are:

Nautische Instrumente Muhle Glashutte/SA

Rolex and Tudor tend to write essays on dials but Muhle Glashutte defintiely have the longest name on a watch dial (unless of course you know different).

Re: Battle of Britain

Duxford is a great museum and that looks like a wonderful show. All those Spitfires and Hurricanes. So many Merlin engines. It really must have been a wonderful show. I don't go to airshows very often but might go more if other brands offered an "on the day" discount   :t...

Re: NPD T4 project

Some more thoughts on casebacks I do like a sapphire or mineral glass caseback. The widescreen 4k case backs on the Apex models make the SH21 movement look fantastic. There are some issues with clear case backs though. On a larger watch the flat expanse of a sapphire case back can sit like a plate o...

Re: NPD T4 project

On straps in particular... Consider shorter straps overall. I own quite a few straps and I'm always frustrated by the fact that my 6.75" wrist is either the shortest, or shortest but one hole in the strap. If the average wrist size is 7" then surely this point should be in the middle of th...

A new survey from CW. This time about the SH21

Did anyone else have this drop in their inbox today? It's quite interesting and it looks as if CW are pondering new takes on the SH21. Please vote for the annual calendar if you take it...

Re: NPD T4 project

There have been a few summaries from Kip thus far. Thank you to Kip for trying to make sense of our ramblings   Has anyone discussed anti-magnetism yet? I was thinking about that this morning after I completed the CW SH21 survey which dropped into my inbox. I'd be very happy if we ...

Re: Incoming: arrival and reveal

CW REALLY needs to find a new carrier for shipments to the United States. I don't think DHL is qualified to manage these shipments. I'm inclined to agree with this. DHL need to train their staff better as CW does include the correct paperwork even if it is in an email and my recent experience has 1...

Re: NPD T4 project

Dial/ hands Summary As one would expect this was probably the area for the most suggestions. Although not without some dissent, the return to a textured dial was heavily favored. Most seemed to prefer the return of the wave dial, or something similar as this was long associated with the Trident. Th...

Re: NPD T4 project

I’ve only owned tridents with the polished ceramic bezel, not the matt version. I have however owned a Bremont with a matt bezel. Can I ask those who own matt bezelled tridents how they hold up to marks? My Bremont used to mark easily and comments on the Facebook Bremont pages suggest it’s quite a ...

Re: NPD T4 project

Tactile dissonance... What do I mean by "Tactile dissonance"? To me this means that when you touch something it feels wrong (e.g., this could be rough when you're expecting smooth, or sharp when you're expecting, smooth). Sharp edges are often a sign of manufacturing quality in some areas ...

Re: NPD T4 project

I am a CW fan (obviously) but also an Omega fan. A lot of the recent Omega watches have been very flashy (shouty even; look at me, how glossy and shiny I am). I'm not going to buy an Aqua Terra small seconds in any guise because they are very loud watches to wear. They are too shiny and flashy... I ...

I guess you couldn't wait for additional colours or sizes. Will you be painting pictures of this onto the side of any vases in the near future? Congratulations.

Re: NPD T4 project

Case - The Light-catcher(TM) case is excellent. Case diameters should be 40 - 42 (42 preferred for me). If you could shave even 0.5 mm off the height that would be great. Case Back - I like the solid caseback with the stamped trident. If you go for an open case back then consider etching or printing...

Re: HSNY Opens USA Chronometer Certification

Interesting. The test is on a cased up watch and has a slightly tighter tolerance than COSC. Let's hope that the American watch brands decide to use it.
