Re: Bronze bracelet

Zelos do a bronze bracelet which had a stainless steel inner and bronze outer layers to prevent green wrists. It also has straight endlinks to fit any watch. Available in 20mm and 22mm, here’s a link to the 22mm. https://zeloswatches.com/collections/accessories/products/bronze-bracelet-22mm?variant=...

About a month in and the patina is coming along nicely.

Re: Things that bothered you as a child?

There have a been a few mentioned already that I had forgotten about. Dr Who and Grange Hill certainly had me scared for very different reasons. The fountain pen thread has also reminded me of another one. I remember when I was in the final year of Junior school, which is about 10-11 years old for t...

Re: IWC service

The watch is now back with the AD who are arranging to have this sent back to IWC for attention. I have been promised a priority turnaround so hopefully it will be back soon all repaired. Fingers crossed.

Re: MBII Savanna

Not a fan of this one despite being a big fan of Bremont.

It reminds me of the IWC Mojave Desert range which again, I’m not too keen on.

Re: Stick or twist - What next after 'Trusty Steed' Kevin?

Security has been my main driver regarding my current car. We seemed to have a spate of desirable German cars being stolen almost every week round these parts. Newspaper stories of gangs breaking into homes and threatening families for the keys made me choose the badge on my current vehicle wisely. ...

Re: Free limited edition AM GT 1VEV CW watch up for grabs

Stay positive Mike, I genuinely hope things start to improve for you soon. Enjoy your sabbatical and we all look forward to hearing from you again soon. On another note regarding this latest idea you posted above, it has had me thinking. Quite a number of us have stated we have no wish to take your ...

Re: IWC service

I take it it's sapphire? What would you have to do to scratch a sapphire like that? It is sapphire but it has a very good anti reflective coating, which in 5 years I’d only managed to add a couple of hardly noticeable marks. These seem to be the coating rather then the actual crystal. The mark abov...

Already checked that as it was my first thought seeing how bad the marks actually are. It is my watch, or at least my caseback……

IWC service

I have today received my IWC MKXVIII back from service with IWC. The cost was £475 and the turnaround about 6 weeks so not unreasonable for a brand of this nature. What isn’t acceptable though is all these scratches that have mysteriously found their way into the Crystal. So back it goes. Not the be...

Off on a stag do, several of the attendees are ex rugby players so this will be two of us that are tested beyond endurance today.

Re: Bremont MBII configurator

Be careful if you are planning on buying the genuine Bremont deployant, they are quite chunky and many people, myself included, find them quite uncomfortable. I bought a watch that came with one and quickly swapped to the traditional Bremont buckle which I find much better.

Re: Euros (Football)

^^^^^ While that sentiment is good in principle, in reality it’s not always that straightforward. Many years ago while on a night out I saw someone get attacked by a group. I don’t know the reasons why but a Good Samaritan stepped in to try to break it up and ended up being taken away in an ambulanc...
