Re: Milek & Co watchmaker Stockport - first class service
Bit of a thread bump, but I had the pleasure of using Simon's services again very recently when mrs mik managed to crack the crystal on her Rado Centrix (auto). Sent the watch down to him (he's now shifted his workshop slightly to Mirfield), and received a call the following morning to assure me of ...

Re: Spinnaker HASS X-MCS
Probably - although it looks pretty deep in this video too (skip the first 75seconds to get to the watch)

Spinnaker HASS X-MCS
A bit of a chunky monkey at 16mm thick, but this seems to have allowed them to create a pretty extreme depth of dial! 8) https://i0.wp.com/masterhorologer.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Spinnaker-SP-5104-HASS-X-MCS-Limited-Edition-3.jpg https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0070/6134/0213/files/BANNER-I...

Re: Milek & Co watchmaker Stockport - first class service
Update : Simon phoned me yesterday - conscious that it was a year since he fixed my watch - wanted to check all was well (which it is). 8) Before he dropped off the call I took the opportunity to ask him to service my C11. It is now 8yrs old, but it has been back to CW twice for repairs which would ...

Re: Is less more?
Great post. I like watches. I specifically like mechanical watches. But I am cynical (often without any cause) of the bigger luxury brands, so I don’t expect I will ever own one of them. 3 mechanical watches work well for me. Personal preference. Thanks for the thanks... I wonder what makes you cyn...

I am far more interested in cars. Actually I am far m...
Re: TVR
I do love a Griff. Wanted one badly for so long that other (newer) things became even more attractive when the reality of a sports car reared its head. (Hence my EvoraS). Can’t beat them for noise though. Even my 6.2 LS3 powered VXR8 with modified intake and exhaust, couldn’t match the gurgle of a G...

Re: F1 2021 Motorsport Thread
I thought Alonso’s race craft was excellent. Hats off to him. In a slower car he did a great job of defending his place IMHO. I am no Ham fan, but I get really embarrassed by the boos. Grown adults. WTF? (Mind you I felt exactly the same when I made my first venture from club level / btcc to attend ...

Re: Possible free CW watch up for grabs
Deks - geez - holding out many crossed fingers for you. I don’t want your watches - you hold on to them like you hold on to your hopes. Having had docs rummaging about in my heart and still here.... stay strong like you are dude.

Re: What Car do you drive??
Arrived in March. https://i.ibb.co/F5K40hD/gr-yaris.jpg Nice - very much the car of the moment. Mine turned 7 this weekend so a gratuitous photo. Now have Michelin Pilot Sport 4S on all round which seem to be as good as the previous Supersports in the wet and warm dry days, but 3 million ti...

Re: What Car do you drive??
Good eye, Guy...it’s a ‘71. It’s in unrestored original condition with the exception of some motor, exhaust and extensive suspension mods. It’s a kick to drive and there’s nothing quite like that Alfa twin cam song! Here’s what an unrestored 70’s Alfa would look like in the UK. Our climate and salt...

Markornot - Wow - that is marvellous
A mate inherited a Sud last year, but it isn’t pristine. He has a number of cars (inc E36 M3 and an E30 M3) but he loves the little Sud.
