Re: What Car do you drive??

Arrived in March. https://i.ibb.co/F5K40hD/gr-yaris.jpg Nice - very much the car of the moment. Mine turned 7 this weekend so a gratuitous photo. Now have Michelin Pilot Sport 4S on all round which seem to be as good as the previous Supersports in the wet and warm dry days, but 3 million ti...

Re: What Car do you drive??

Good eye, Guy...it’s a ‘71. It’s in unrestored original condition with the exception of some motor, exhaust and extensive suspension mods. It’s a kick to drive and there’s nothing quite like that Alfa twin cam song! Here’s what an unrestored 70’s Alfa would look like in the UK. Our climate and salt...

Re: What Car do you drive??

Markornot - Wow - that is marvellous 😎

A mate inherited a Sud last year, but it isn’t pristine. He has a number of cars (inc E36 M3 and an E30 M3) but he loves the little Sud.

Simon Milek at Milek & Co. of Stockport.

Fantastic customer experience - longer (possibly rambling) recommendation posted here

Milek & Co watchmaker Stockport - first class service

Posting this as I searched the forum and don’t see any mention of Milek, so I wanted to relay my positive experience in the hope that it might be of use to someone else. I bought a 2nd hand Alpina Alpiner4 at the end of 2020. It is immaculate , but I realised it wasn’t running perfectly - more often...

Thanks all 😁

And yeah there is no need for a cheap watch to have a cheap strap.... unless you are funds-limited 😊

Cheap(er) alternative to a Hirsch Robby?

I got a yellow Robby last year for my C1000CE. Has stayed night and clean and is comfy to wear. 8) My youngest wants similar for his Spinnaker - which only cost £100 or so, so a £65 Robby is just £abitsilly in that context. :? Anything similar he might consider? He wants orange to match the watch an...

Strange as mine arrived today too and I was marvelling earlier at the fact the mag is absolutely spotless. Not a mark, dent, scuff. Really quite remarkable.

That Longines looks good on the mesh.

Predictably <checks own wrist> I am going to say that the C11 is the highlight for me. :)

The first trick was opening the bottle, which wasn't easy.

The horological equivalent of this.

I think it was Jurassic park that said “ Yeah, but your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should”

Re: The Best Meals of Your Life

Such a difficult one to input to! :? My boss is French and massively into his food, and even more hugely patriotic. I’ve probably now eaten in 50+ restaurants with Michelin stars - mainly across France but several other countries too. Ironically I think the most memorable french cuisine restaurant f...

Re: Broken Ceramic C1000 Typhoon

I must admit that I assumed - should the worst ever happen - that I’d be able to get a new case / crystal from CW. It is of course reasonable that they can’t stock parts for all models for an infinite length of time, but I bought my C1000 Cockpit edition new in April 2017.... I’d expect they still h...
