Re: C11 Makaira Elite Titanium

Thanks a lot mabotham. I was concerned about the quality issues after yours had a few problems then Halt's broke down soon after as well. I am not sure if you are going to use the stock rubber strap or not. I have not really used one before except the plastic ones came with a Timex digital watch whe...

Re: Any new CW models anticipated/expected soon?

Blue seems to be a favourite colour amongst many forum members here. Why not bring out something similar to the 2009 FLE, one of the most successful watches from CW in my opinion. Why not base it on the current C20 and under the new logo it would be easy to distinguish it as a normal website LE inst...

Re: C11 Makaira Elite Titanium

mabotham, Two things if you could help with: 1. As I said I think I have similar small wrists like yours (from your photo). Is it uncomfortable to have a big watch like that as your main daily wear watch? 2. Once you have yours back, could you let us know if the accuracy has improved? Do you think t...

Re: C11 Makaira Elite Titanium

I was on holiday in Dec and did not get a chance to pre-order this with the discount. When I got the e-mail last week, it got me hooked again. To my surprise & utter delight it has both Titanium & COSC! My experience in life with other tech products has been they would tend NOT to offer too ...

Re: 2013 Forum LE suggestion

If there is going to be a 2013 FLE, if it is too much work for CW to fit in a new design or/and once again the members can't agree, here is my suggestion! Why not bring out the 2009 FLE again and just start the serial numbers where it got left off the last time to distinguish it. It was a very succe...

No luck so far, except mistaken my boss' B&R for a black vintage C11! I'll try harder next time.

Re: GMT Owners Poll

The one hand that is also linked to the 24 hr hand is set to home time to remind me wether it is day or night back home when I am travelling abroad. The other hand is then set to the local time of the place I am going to as usually I can tell whether it is day or night where I am.

CW on T3

Not sure if this has been reported. I just read this article on the T3 website called "Best watches to buy in 2012". Amongst them is a CW C600 Tri-Tech Diver Elite. Nice to see CW is being recognised along side not only the usual established Rolex, Omega, Oris etc but also a $1.5m Patek Ph...

Re: battery dead after 14 months????

Next time, go for an automatic then the batteries will never trouble you again. Unless it is one of those power reserve ones. They might still have a re-chargeable battery inside.

Re: Significance of 10:09?

It is for a very very simple marketing reason. With the two hands pointing at 10:10, the watches/clocks show a "Happy Smiling" face! Watch makers, jewelers have been using it for years to help sell them. If the hands are at say 8:20 then it will be a very un-happy and sad face. Now, who wo...

Re: Investment

Surely, if money is involved then it is a case of supply and demand. Hence desirability is key. What is desirable? I believe it was Donald Trump who made a fortune from some of the arts and stuff he collected. When asked how he selected his collections to ensure a good return on his investment, he s...

True, you can wash and replace them. However, with the steel ones you can just wear them and enjoy them without the hassle of having to either to replace or wash them regularly. Simple Straightforward Stainless Steel Straps! That is my 5s for the day, splendid! Must Stop now!
