Re: Q1 watch wear report; brought to you by “On My Wrist”

I have used the app for almost 3 years.

Before I had the app - I knew what watches I wear regularly and which are only worn occasionally.

Using the app has only confirmed what I already knew.

I like the app, but it plays no part in deciding what watches to wear.

I understand that the lady wore Cartier or Longines.

I have neither. You will have to make do with this.

A Sarb017 has a sapphire crystal, as do all of the new Alpinist models released in 2020 and 2021...

Re: Introducing The Tudor Black Bay Fifty-Eight 925, With A Silver Case & Sapphire Caseback

I think the BB58 925 has a rich look to it..I find it & the new Panda chrono to be very tempting.. You may be on to something there. I have had a look at Tudor’s own YouTube coverage of the releases. It does seem clear that the look and finish of the case is completely different to the SS models an...

That method of attachment for a deployment is also often used by a few high end brands, like JLC and PP.

^^^ Guy you have a general ambivalence to Tudor and Rolex? :)

That will come as a shock to many forumites, is it something you have mentioned before?

Re: Introducing The Tudor Black Bay Fifty-Eight 925, With A Silver Case & Sapphire Caseback

Silver and aluminium (from the case back) - that will certainly be shiny, don't think it will help with the hardness though. 92.5% silver means the unlucky few who go black within hours due to skin chemistry will surely still do so. The taupe just looks like an old sun-bleached black though my old ...

Re: Steel and gold explorer

Nothing of interest to me in the releases. Fortunately I can just stick with older versions of the “updated” models. As mentioned above a version of the Explorer using gilt text, plot surrounds and hands would have worked. All the better if not accompanied by the gold bezel and TT bracelet. I note t...

Re: The Biggest House In The World

I watched about the first minute, during which they mentioned the size in square feet and the cost.

At that point I didn’t bother watching any further, on the basis that I don’t think it is the largest private residence in the world.

Re: Steel and gold explorer

You know the saying, if you can't say something nice...I know Rolex has glamed up nearly every other watch in their catalog, but an Explorer? The only true tool left has no place at this table IMO. I reckon it went something like this: :D Picture the scene - Rolex Marketing Geneva 2020 - “I reckon ...

^^^ Indeed scooter. The seller is a watch nut, I have ‘met’ him a few times at Zoom GTGs. He is also someone who wore his 5711, rather than wrap it in cotton wool and treat it as an investment. :)

Paul is your dream that they stick the new movement in a case smaller than 42mm?

Or is it more a nightmare...

The realisation that all they seem to have done is stuck the new movement in the existing 42mm model!

Anyone want a new TT 36mm Explorer?
