Re: Dry January 2024

Decided last minute to take part this year - never really felt the need, as not a huge drinker these days (mostly, apart from a bit of casual binge drinking on the rare occasions I do get to go out..) However, I thought it would be a good time to try, whilst I was doing Red January (Run Every Day). ...

Re: New Longines x Hodinkee Zulu Time Limited Edition

I think the OG Zulu Time is better looking. I would also say the same about the BB Pro (mind you, I own the latter so I would say that). The bezel looks too large..not sure it actually is, likewise with the numbers..they look too far in to me. Assuming they're all the same proportions as the standar...

Re: Incoming - Formex Essence Chronometer 43mm

Looks good, Guy! I recently moved on my Formex 39..but white, like yours. Whislt I really liked it...there was just something which didn't quite work for me. I loved the face...so much so, that it's probably been my favourite face on a watch to date. And it was ever so comfy. And the quality was rig...

Re: I have never ...

I have never smoked a cigarette. Not a whole one. When I was a toddler, my parents gave me one to take a puff (was that cruel?), with the intention that I would feel so ill that I would never want to smoke (it worked). Ditto and for the same reason. At around the age of 9 or 10, Dad gave me a rolli...

Re: I have never ...

I have on the odd occasion. I think that they have their place - maybe not quite so many needed, but still. However, talking of which...I have never.. Used a Drive-Through Bottle Shop (Off-Licence/Liquor Store) Yes, they really do exist. Not sure if it's a phenomenon confined to Australia..but isnt ...

Re: Anybody ever downgrade their phone?

on SIM only also on SIM only. What does that mean exactly? Not sure how it works across the pond, but over here in blighty 'Sim Only' refers to the tariff you take out. They usually fall in to two categories. Sim Only - you pay purely for the calls/data/messages etc over the life of the plan (1 to ...

Re: Dream 5 car garage

Great topic. (I listen to this podcast, just haven't listened to this episode yet) One thought about many a time though. Classic to start. Lotus Esprit - early 80's. Porche 911 GT3 Range Rover Bentley Continental GT A convertible Ferrari of some sort - pictured F8 Spider. Although, if I'm being sens...

Re: Sell me on a travel destination

Some great recommendations thus far. I would like to suggest Chamonix, France. A truly stunning part of the world. Lots of walks, rides etc to be had. Spring time would be a wonderful time of year. The likes of Geneva are an hour away. And a short trip through the tunnel and you're in Italy. And the...

Re: The end is nigh!

Drop the watch internet (or the whole thing if you think you can't achieve that) and just enjoy your watches. It seems to me that the influence from everything around you is what has you constantly churning. Get rid of the influence and think long and hard about what you have in your hands right in...

Re: Does absence make the heart grow fonder?

Well, they can, but...
The good: They replied within 5 minutes! Excellent CS.
The not so good: It's £300!

I was expecting/hoping it'd be around the £200 mark.
Guess it will be staying on the strap for a little while longer

Chrontime is the UK centre for Oris services and repairs. Full details on their website- I found them responsive and very professional. https://www.chrontime.co.uk/ Thanks for this, Lindsay. I've just popped them a message. As I will be looking for a bracelet for my new (to me) Pro Pilot - which un...

Re: The Perfect Summer Hat ***NERD ALERT***

This thread has piqued my interest. As someone who is follicly challenged, it's something I'm wanting to find more and more these days. BUT, I have a head that just does not suit hats. Certainly not baseball caps, which tends to be my hat of choice and I've yet to find/settle on one which I think su...

Re: Minger of the day

I have to agree with you..that one fell out of the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down.

What's with the bezel, it doesn't look like it rotates, yet the pip is around near 1 ?
