Re: Shout out to Piers @ Pinion Watches

Nice gesture, get 'em on ebay. Trust you, Chris   In all seriousness, I have asked Piers if he has a charity he supports and I will make a donation to them in return for the straps Well done Piers, and you too, Chris, for offering to make a donation in lieu. I've never been drawn to...

Re: Rolex on Posh Pawnbrokers

Yesterday, Wednesday they had a Rolex Daytona with aftermarket pink diamonds, for £6000. The owner had the diamonds added to bling it up. Today they had a 1958 Rolex bracelet watch dripping with factory set jewels that only fetched £3200 I just can't see how these sort of prices correspond to the p...

Re: Pressure Testing

Anyway, here's an interesting look and learn review of what's involved by Marc at Long Island Watches, that I found. Worth watching although it's not a short video. It discusses 3 different systems, one dry and two wet. Here's the correct link to the video with Marc at Long Island: https://www.yout...

Re: US Customs Help

I've unofficially decided not to buy anymore CW watches >$800 due to the customs issue. Not only is there an added cost, but it tends to lead to delays as well. Buy a watch $799 or less and you don't have to worry about either. Stick around for the sales and quite a few watches become available und...

Re: MKIII Bracelet Half-Links Are In!

Although I received my half links free, I was prepared to pay. And I don’t think it’s unreasonable for CW to charge, given the number of requests that they are likely to receive. My half-link for my Speedmaster cost me an unreasonable amount of money. Charging a presumably fair price is not only ve...

Re: Oh the Joys of Milanese Sharkskin Mesh!

Looks great. I've always found Milanese a little dressy for a tool watch, preferring a traditional shark mesh. On the Raketa it elevates it from tool watch to dress watch, and it looks like the strap it should have shipped with.

My timer is roughly double yours. I haven't put a countdown on my phone as I don't need that much depression every day.

Re: US Customs Help

@bearcatrunner - you might not have seen this, but as posted by Kip in the current 'US Customs help?' thread;- As far as I know, nothing has changed with the way that CW handles shipments to the USA. Reposting this from a previous thread... Thought this was worth reposting.. Hope this helps. Guy Se...

Re: Watch safety

When we go away for any length of time, my 2 or 3 most valuable watches go into the safe deposit box (and grab the passports out at the same time). Some other moderate value watches go elsewhere offsite. Most of the rest get tucked away in a less than obvious location in the house. Some of the cheap...

Re: Are You Willing To Say Goodbye...

If it looks good, it's comfortable, not too hot, and wears well, I really don't care if it's made of leather, pleather, ocean plastic, unicorn poop, or anything else.

Re: Watches that have a story to tell

The Poles seem to have a really strong sense of military history in their watch brands. Most of the G. Gerlach watches also have a story connected to them (including their version of a ORP Orzel watch). The majority of the Gerlach watches commemorate military history, but they also have watches cele...

LOL. Less than 600m WR. You'll have to take it off to wash the dishes.

Re: Post a picture from your latest ride

Yesterdays ride. Providing EMS coverage for Canada Day Celebrations. Unfortunately it was too hot (37C) to really enjoy the riding until well after sunset. The order of the day was finding as much shade as possible.
