Thanks Neil, but I'm good for camo gear
(I've lived in Edinburgh for 30 years and nobody knows I'm here yet! )

Re: New CW Sealander Chronograph

And there's been a discussion elsewhere here about words on dials and the absence of the words "quartz" or "automatic" here add to the debate about which it's going to be! Is "hand wound" ever written on the dial of a watch? EDIT: I'll say it'll automatic/handwound with...

Re: New CW Sealander Chronograph

There was an observation by someone recently that there isn't a chronograph in the current lineup. This changes that. I like it, although it's too similar to one I already own so won't be looking to get this one.

Re: Spinning rotor syndrome on my FLE: Cured?

In have a Victorinox with exactly this situation! I tend to wear it until it's running and then set the time.

How much is a fix likely to be d'you think? (On the assumption it's straightforward and hasn't wrecked the rest of the movement).

Re: Sealander bracelet on Trident pro 300; does it work?

Looks good to me and looks like it fits better than the actual bracelet designed for my C60 (The Beast) Chrono Pro 600 which fits slightly short of the lugs. After a while it's not something I'd notice anyway so go for it. EDIT: I've added a pic of The Beast and I think your bracelet looks at least ...

Re: Upgraded C1 Moonglow

Just received email about C1 Moonglow - preorder end March 2024 Anyway I would be very wary of paying CW up front these days in light of some recent comments. What have I missed? What are the concerns about paying up front atm? EDIT: just catching up with another thread, is it about delays with the...

Re: Time to reset our watches?

How funny! It reminds me of the sketch from a 1990s BBC comedy called "Blackadder". The second series is set in Elizabethan England and in one of the episodes Blackadder sets sail on the open seas to seek fame and fortune. One of the Queen's courtiers hands him a map and says: "The fo...

Re: Buying watches before the Internet

Look at this selection of Oris watches from the Next Directory of the 1980s published over on Instagram. That pointer date model still exists but at £1600, in the 80s Next Directory it's £157.99 or even maybe £57.99!! I worked for Next as a Saturday boy in the late 80s/early 90s and at the time had ...

The watches section of the printed Argos catalogue. Heaven as a 15 year old boy (and before other printed publications, also pre-internet, became of unhealthy interest!)

Re: Dressed down

Love that strap on the right! A driver's style I think? Where did you get it? I want one! It is lovely. It's 'artificially' aged, but I think it looks good and authentic. Nice quality leather. It's from Watch Garage in Portugal: https://watch-garage.com/collections/wg-original-straps?page=2 :thumbu...
