Re: Found my grail but what do you make of this?

I can't find a Santos bigger than 32mm in quartz so not exactly sure what the same price comparison is between but these are two very different watches - lume vs none, crown protection vs none, date vs none, square vs round... the only comparable feature is they are both steel with a bracelet but ev...

Re: 6.5" wrist, C60... 38mm vs 40mm

I don't think that formula really works at all. You'd also need to consider, at a minimum, lug to lug length as well as dial size. I can't imagine what complex formula that would result it, unless there is a mathematician in the house! Do all wrists have the same height to width ratio? I'm thinking...

Re: Ask Jimbo

Perfect timing, I was thinking today that I need a new job. Given that my experience is in jobs I don't want (previously in an office and currently a CNC operator/setter) what do you suggest? I have brains and am physically strong/healthy, something that uses both would be great. Start your own Fen...

Pretty sure you keen guessers are going to be ignored for a fortnight, whether you're right or not

Re: JJ04 Complication question

JJ04 is accurate to one day in 128 years, though I guess this assumes it keeps time perfectly when it could be +/- 10 seconds per day. If you advance or retard the time the moon adjusts with it so it would not be hard to adjust to keep it accurate. How often would depend on your exact watch and how ...

I hope not - it's big enough already! :-P

Glad they're willing to try and fix you, hopefully all goes well in a couple of weeks.

Re: Request to remove offensive smilies

I quite like the one with the moustache as an interesting face that may have a use but agree that labelling it as Asian is offensive. The teeth one could also be used when someone gets their first adult teeth but again calling it Chinese is something else... Even if they are built in they could be r...

Re: Are college/university rings a thing in the UK?

Nope. I wouldn't be attached to mine anyway, I went too early in life so didn't chose a sensible course then couldn't be bothered to get a gap year placement so failed to get a related job and now my degree is useless. I didn't pick up any friends or "find myself" so the only thing I have ...

Re: Coronavirus Vaccine.

The best offer I had was first appointment in my hometown and the second 40 miles away somewhere I've never heard of, so I left it for a couple of days to see if things improved. Since then I can't get a first within 25 miles of home which seems very strange as I live in a really old (population age...

I'm kinda redhead, my 'tan' looks like the average person does in winter so this is not something I have to worry about.

Re: Show us your socks or fancy shirts!

I don’t know what the weather is like where are you guys are, but no way could I be wearing socks on a day like today unless absolutely required by dress code. It is hot for May but if you go sockless now what can you do when summer hits and it's even worse? Not looking forward to cycling t...

Re: Jigsaw

Hadn't noticed how many incomplete circular bits there are on this until I just looked at the close up, even ignoring the many similar looking gold cogs and large plain blue bit round the edge - must have been a real challenge! Good to see them out of the box
