Came across the smaller quartz version while looking for a beater, not sure why but I really like the wonky gold boxes. Bigger and auto? Lovely.

According to the video it's to celebrate 90 years of the Reverso. I guess releasing this overly-chunky non-waterproof effort (

As a fellow layman this seems like a good summary and makes perfect sense throughout - good work

Re: You know you’re wearing it...
My first real watch still has the biggest presence on my wrist thanks to being a shiny square with a 24mm bracelet.

Doesn't look as big as it used to thanks to starting cycling and a manual job rather than sitting in an office so maybe I could consider bigger watches

Elliot Brown Canford or Bloxworth then, on their EPDM (resistant to oil) rubber strap. Not sure about the size but mineral crystal is for bumps over scratches :( Victorinox. ...The bezel is a bit of a scratch magnet, but it doesn't matter! There's a carbon one on ebay, can't find any "well used" pi...

Re: Introducing The Tudor Black Bay Fifty-Eight 925, With A Silver Case & Sapphire Caseback
Silver and aluminium (from the case back) - that will certainly be shiny, don't think it will help with the hardness though. 92.5% silver means the unlucky few who go black within hours due to skin chemistry will surely still do so. The taupe just looks like an old sun-bleached black though my old m...

Re: Rehabilitating a trident with a Toshi strap
Almost looks like a sponge in the closeup so no wonder it's squidgy. To my eyes it's a bit big for the Tissot but the CWs look great  A GMT is probably not the most useful feature these days but hopefully will come into it's own soon (and I'm not one to complain about a splash of orange :lo...

Re: Looking for a small(ish) beater, preferably analog
Having reviewed lots of suggestions and given it more thought while browsing I've come up with this list of requirements (added to the OP) £500 budget, significantly less is good Used is good so I don't have to feel bad adding the first ding/scratch  Quartz (unless special anti-vibration is in...

The blue one looks nice, crown is huge though I guess that's because vintage pilot's gloves were thick? They shouldn't be changing the time mid-flight anyway

Re: Oris New Releases - Cotton Candy
I agree with seemingly everyone here - looks arguably good when new (personal taste and all that...) but will look strange once the bronze goes dark.
Not for me thanks.

Re: Looking for a small(ish) beater, preferably analog
Wow, so many suggestions. I had forgotten just how much variety is out there in watch land :o Can't help thinking divers' colourful bezels are not going to look good once scratched and dented/chipped and if Elliot Brown think even quartz needs extra bouncy bits I'm definitely avoiding automatics. Ha...

Re: Looking for a small(ish) beater, preferably analog
Thanks for the suggestions, I'm going to work now so will look properly later. Do you have any constraints on budget or preference on new vs pre-owned? On one hand this will be my most worn watch, on the other it's going to get damaged so the justifiable budget varies wildly depending how I look at ...

Looking for a small(ish) beater, preferably analog
I'm looking for a beater for work which means miles of offroad cycling to get there followed by high risk of damage and inevitable contact with oil as well as plenty of water. One day I drove in and forgot to take off my C65 and it now has a dent in the bezel and a scratch on a lug so wont be doing ...
