RGM 250

Post by 28800bph »

I recently visited the RGM Watch Company for a tour and I purchased a watch.

Here's a link to my photo report of the tour that I had posted recently: http://christopherwardforum.com/viewtop ... 33&t=13849

And here is my new Model 250. Rich Baugh, RGM designer and general manager, told me they are making a series of 25 pieces for this design. The dial is silver brushed finished. Hands are flame-blued steel. The sapphire crystal has an AR coating on the inside surface only. C3 lume is applied on the hands and markers.

The caliber is a RGM-customized Valgranges A07.111 "top" grade with Glucydur balance and Anachron hairspring. The movement is rhodium plated with areas of Côtes de Genève and perlage. It shows through a sapphire caseback with etched lettering.

The case measures 42 mm x 15 mm. I was given the choice of full polish, or polish with brushed sides. I selected the latter -- I like the contrasting textures.

The 22 mm strap is black Louisiana alligator with a signed RGM buckle in stainless steel.

It was a pleasure to tour the RGM company and I think I left with the perfect souvenir!

I like that, particularly the blued hands and dial arrangement.

Very nice. I particularly like the caseback treatment, which shows off the modified Valgranges in all its glory. Good to see a movement and case that fit well together size-wise.

I know this is not for everyone, but I find this to be a wonderfully elegant piece. A terrific addition!

I am familiar with RGM and their quality is exceptional.

Am I right thinking that some of their cases( including this one ) come from Roland Kemmner ?

Found the answer to my own question in an old mail from Roland:

"We mainly produce watches or parts for other brands like Dornblüth, Tourby, Timefactors, Kobold, RGM, Wilson-Watch-Works, Blancier and so on.

Best Regards

Roland"
