Although I am a quartz man, I agree with the comment that the date move to 4 to allow another orange marker at 3. I like the onion hour hand. It allows differentiation when the hands are on top of each other once per hour.
Thanks,

Hi All,

This is the best part of the forum for me! There's everything so great on this site, congrats!
As the watch is concerned:
The hour hand - I guess, it is called pear hand, indeed - is VERY original for a sport watch. Pear hands with thick lume on a dive watch - it's very post-modern.
Love it, where to send the deposit?

Best wishes,

Csaba

I really like this one - though I agree that the date window would be better at four to allow for an orange marker at 3. It's a bit big for me but I would still go for this. Looks good.

Looks good, but I am hoping for some real super lume on indexes. The CW lume on my C5 aviator is to dimm for a divers watch! Stronger lume then on the C5 aviator please. The orange index should have lume aswell. The lume should be so strong that I have to protect my eyes with sunglasses when telling the time :D

Why does the lume look more "dark" on the GMT then on the Sub?

Also the Sub lume on hands look more "dark" then on the big dots?

The lume on the GMT hand and Subs second hand looks less dark then on the other hands?

Wouldn´t it look better with the same orange small lume dots on the GMT like the 12 o´clock index and the same less dark big lumes dots like on the Sub?

The lume dot on the 12 o´clock bezel should be less dark then it is, should be like the big dots on the sub.

Alos why not a black date wheel same color as dial, but with white/orange text or lume as numerals?

Are you shure about that, I mean it would more easy to use the same lume color on hands and markers when making a mockup then using different lume colors? Therefore I don´t think it´s a coincidence, but a choice.

The text on dial:

"Trident-GMT
Dual-Time
Automatic"

Isn´t a bit unnecessary to have both "GMT" and "Dual-TIme" on dial-face :? Not both please!

In fact none of them have to be on dial, we all see the GMT hand!

Instead i would suggest what we don't see:
"Trident
Automatic
300 meters"

If it is 300 meters WR?

I'd keep the "Trident-GMT" as it forms part of the Trident family - with the Trident-Pro.

I'd also keep "Automatic", but agree the "Dual Time" is unnecessary.

Yes, only "Trident GMT" but without "-" is acceptable. Don´t like "-" on dial.

"Trident GMT
Automatic
300 meters"

or

"Trident GMT
Automatic
1000 ft = 300 m"

or

"Trident GMT
Automatic"

or

"Trident UTC
Automatic
300 meters"

or

"Trident UTC
Automatic
1000 ft = 300 m"

or

"Trident UTC
Automatic"

What do you think UTC or GMT?

UTC is more military and GMT is more classy.

Also if we have 1000 ft = 300 m on the Trident we should have it on the Trident GMT/UTC. Eventough I don´t like too much text on dial-face. But there is no automatic text on the quartz Trident so it has less text. Maybe just keep the "1000 ft = 300 m" on the Trident GMT case-back and not on dial?

And last but not least:
Only capital letter on the first letter of each word. Just like you have:
"Christopher Ward
London"

GMT on this sort of watch. Agree UTC is for military watches.

Finish

Postby The Swede » Thu Mar 11, 2010 11:35 pm

The GMT looks like brushed steel finish and the Trident looks like bead blasted?

I prefer brushed steel finish instead of bead blasted. Bead blasted is the worst finish, and I mean that in a bad way. The ev. polished part the bezel-ring can stay or be brushed as well, not sure jet. But all brushed finish would make it look more solid, and a litte polished more elegant.

I agree that it should read on the Dial:

Trident GMT
Automatic
300m

Also the date window definitely needs to move and allow for another orange marker to balance the dial. I wish for the date window to be black on a CW.

If these changes are made then this watch would be definitely on my to "Have list" as it is it's only a may be!

PS I wouldn't mind having some colour options for the bezel as well but that's not as important as the changes requested above

I also agree of taking the bezel color from the Trident non-GMT and putting it on the blue/red bezel dial version.

I also thing the orange bezel version is too much orange, both bezel and markers orange is too much orange.

Ah, another dive watch...excellent.

Like others, I am not sure about the hour/minute hands. I like the trident seconds hand and the GMT pointer.

I'd love to see a variety of dial and bezel colors in addition to basic black. Would it have Superluminova lume?
