Good old Google found this post for me!

On my c60 with the 3hole micro adjustment I still can't get the perfect fit! So I emailed Wera and paid £10 for the 5 hole clasp.... If only it were that simple.....
Side by side, the claps are different sizes! Meaning that regardless of the 3 or 5 micro adjustment they end up being the same size.
I'm just checking with Kip if his 3 / 5 hole clasps are different sizes too.... Or is it just mine?

Wera did say that the 5 hole clasp didn't come with the divers extension...... But mine did!

It's not over yet!

C60 Divers Extension Removal - Lots of Pictures

Post by mabotham »

Right!
As luck would have it, a post has just popped up

http://www.christopherwardforum.com/vie ... 42&t=23574

I see here the divers was not part of the bracelet.... So back to the table and I have now removed the divers on the 5 hole and now successfully put it on the smallest micro hole...... RESULT!!!!

Although, if I would have removed the divers on the 3 hole extension and messed around with link removals I'm sure I could have got there & saved myself a tenner!

Anyhow, C60 blue now perfect!

Cheers for both posts, good old forum!

Whilst I'm at it..... What size are the pin holes? My cheap Chinese metal has snapped so going to buy some decent tools...
0.5mm?

Very interesting and (to those that want it) useful tutorial Alphajet :D

I do have to ask though - wouldn't it be simpler to put it on a NATO

I agree, I think the C60 goes very well on leather.

I have exactly the strap you describe for sale, or you can get a new one from sectime on Ebay for a very modest price. That are similar in thickness to the original CWL leather straps.

If you fancy something a little chunkier, then timepiece republic on Ebay so some excellent thick leather straps in all colours with all sorts of colour stitching. They are pricier at around £30 but good quality and they deliver fast to UK from LA.

Steve-o-straps might be worth a look. He will match whatever colour you want no one of his straps.

You can request that the do a bracelet without the divers extension. I know that you can for the larger C60 as the bracelet is used for other watches with different ends to fit the watch. Worth asking the question of the C61 can be done like that as well.

Try one of these; it's also water resistant to 100m.

Seriously. But, an impressive DIY job nonetheless.

I finally got around to it and asked Wera for a clasp without the divers extension for my C60. £20 and a week later it arrived, although I only needed the end link piece, the swap was easy and now the watch fits perfectly on the 4th micro adjustment and now I have a spare clasp and some bracelet parts at least. Otherwise it was either too loose or too tight.

interesting modification. the only thing that would concern me is the strength of that spring bar now.

The bars are designed to work in 'shear' between the dive clasp and the main clasp. By fitting the spacers, the pin is now not in shear and easily bent. i think that would be significantly weaker than the dive clasp.

its probably over engineered enough to get away with it but, I don't think it would take much to pop that pin out.
